Have read many posts and opinions about why we weren't in a prevent D at the end and the rationale is simple. UF only needed a FG to win and with 9 seconds left they needed about 25 yards to be in the kicker's range. In almost all similar situations plays are called to get that FG attempt. UF coaches knew this and called for the throw to the end zone once they saw the normal defensive alignment. Had we been in prevent, it would have likely been a throw in the 10-15 yards range underneath the coverage to try and get into FG range. watching the replay several times clearly shows our players were playing to prevent a shot at a FG attempt and not against a TD.

25 yards or 63 yards... it doesn't matter. It's inexcusable, period. Rush 4, play 4 in the field of play, and 3 over the top. If we can't defend and keep them under 25 yards, we don't deserve to win anyways.

It happens at every level. Cost Manning and the Broncos a win vs. Baltimore a few years back. (Not solely a Butch issue, just saying.)

Did anyone notice that Kongbo was held? I am not putting the blame on the refs but based on the angle he was taking at the time, its very likely he would have sacked Franks.

Maybe if TK was healthy that play wouldnt have happened.

We let Frank hit his WR in stride...from 60 yards...I'm sorry but whatever Shoop is teaching isn't working. And whatever bullcrap he's calling isn't working. That was a pitiful last play. Kind of sums of Butch's coaching career here at TN.
