I'm all for being positive and the first half was good especially compared to the Troy game.

However, the ship seems to be sinking again.

We're currently holding our opponent to 160 yards rushing. Take away the one big play of 77 yards and we've held them under 100 for 3 quarters. Most of the passing yardage came in the 3rd quarter. That's 100% improvement from the last few weeks.

We've also had two turnovers.

The biggest sign of improvement, however, is the solid containment zones on almost every play. Missouri has gotten very few one on one match ups and we've benefitted greatly from multiple vols being in the right places at the right times.

Be proud of this team Vol Nation.

Ever heard the phrase "Every team makes a run?" What do you think it means?

You can't judge the scheme by the success or failure of a play or even multiple plays. You have to look at the overall picture. Where are your players relative to the ball on a given play? How often do you give the opponent one on one match ups? How often do you control the edge?

We've forced Missouri to virtually abandon the run and completely reverse their normal spread offense. We're making them do what they do worst: pass the ball deep. They're playing our game and that hasn't happened much this season.

We've gotten beat on a few plays, but that's just football.
