Sorry but Debord needs to be gone. Do we have more than 5 plays?????, We never threw the ball down field to back the linebackers off the line of scrimmage. I know we have many injuries and winning today would be very hard but the play calling is so bland. Bama had no respect for the deep ball and kept 7 & 8 in the box at all times. If I were a receiver recruit I would not consider Tennessee as long as Debord was there. Not trying to be negative but the play calling was awful. We need a young mind who can open up the offense. He was a bad hire and it really showed today...........JMO Go Vols

In your opinion, how did we rack up over 600 yds of offense last week at A&M?

Plays were called to throw the ball down the field. But when you have Tatum, Boulware, Kendrick, and Richmond responsible for blocking Bama's front 7, there's only so much you can do.

I know it's hard to swallow in the emotional aftermath of a drubbing like that, but you can only put so much on coaching. Don't hold play calling responsible for guys just being completely overmatched.

Good offensive coordinators can scheme to help a struggling line. This one not so much.

I question the IQ of our fan base. We were beaten by a better AND healthier team. Dobbs had no time to throw the ball, and when he did, he went with the first progression. Not much any OC could've done. We went 2-2 in our gauntlet, should've been 3-1. It is what it is.

These young men have played ball for 6 straight weeks, they need to rest up. Support the team and stop lashing out like 3 year old children.

Ok keyboard coaches, who do you hire? Or better yet, why dont one of you apply for the job? Surely calling an offense is simple enough. Great pay for very little work.

Sounds good, but not all the time. Stop lashing out like a kid. Support the team. No one expected us to go undefeated. When we lose, people lash out. Craziest thing....

Who's lashing out? DeBord is a weak link on this team as far as coaches go. I do support this team. I believe they deserve better.

There's a difference in a "struggling line" and a line of guys who have no business being on the field. You had guys out there who have never been on a college field against a D full of guys ready to step into the NFL.

They can scheme to help to a degree. They can't scheme chicken **** into chicken salad.

Can they do something other than run into a stone wall on first down for the whole first half basically spotting the defense a down?

Can they do something other than throw the ball within 5 yards of los?

Can they do something besides have the qb sitting in a collapsing pocket or roll the pocket giving a run/pass option?

Can they continue a two back set with Hurd leading for Kamara after it was successful for more than two plays?

Can they throw the ball downfield to Jennings one on one more than once when he was blatantly interfered with?

Can they throw quick hitters on slants that were open all day?

Can they call plays across the middle to the TE more than oncemor twice?

Or is that too much to ask of a offensive coordinator making $600k a year?

If y'all think DeBord is up to the standards of a championship level team there really isn't a need to continue this discussion.

It's not IQ. Not entirely, anyway. It's that many people are so attached to this team that they live and die on every play of every game. That breeds overreactions and, absent the ability to truly dissect film and see where and why we failed, it's much easier to blame coaches than players.

The OC is not the problem. Having 5 of you top 7 O Linemen hurt was the problem.

I don't know who you get to replace him or when/how you do it, but it is coaching malpractice to have Alvin Kamara only get 8 touches after setting a school record last week. That's on Debord. That has nothing to do with a patchwork line.

Mahoney has sucked as bad as any coach period. Debored isn't far behind. Mahoney must know something on Butch for him to keep him 4 yrs.

That was a slap in the face to Kamara. After last week, all this kid did was prove who was the best back on the team. Instead Hurd got 90% of the carries for his usual 1yd. If I'm Kamara Id be pissed. John Kelly got a raw deal today also.
