We'll all agree Tank and Flowers will be two of the 5. Try to limit your responses to 1 more safety that will play nickel and obviously 2 corners. I wasn't able to include the true freshman as I was only allowed 10 choices.

We'll assume the top safety choice (nickel) and the top 2 corner choices will join Tank and Flowers in the starting 5.... Keeping in mind that 7-8 DBs will probably play significant snaps.

Man I haven't even heard Dee Williams name yet in fall camp. It seems to be Walker vs McDonald for the STAR. I think a 3 man race between Burrell, Hadden, and Turnage for 2 CB slots. Turrentine is certainly a safety and is certainly behind Flowers and McCullough, but should certainly see time. I'd imagine Charles factors in with at least a couple positions. I do expect to see more of a rotation as I believe we are very deep at DB.

I think that's a pretty accurate analysis. As far as Wiiliams goes, I believe at some point I've heard Hypeul or someone claim he'll be an option in the return game. It might have been the spring.

Opposing coaches live or die by finding the weak links. Agree the Burrell has to get a hole lot better, be replaced by someone a whole lot better, or that position will be our weak link.

Haven’t heard anything about Slaughter. Seems like he’s kind of disappeared since his freshman year.

Me either. I remember him starting his 1st game as a true freshman when Shamburger was out. He was subsequently burned several times IIRC.

I don't actually agree. I think Tank gets dethroned by Turrentine.

CB-Hayden
CB-Burrell
NB-Charles
S-Turrentine
S-Flowers

What is it specifically that leads you to believe McCullough, a 3 year starter, won't be one of the 3 starting safeties?

Production, foot speed, overall safety play the last few years.

He was also the lowest graded safety in the entire SEC last season by PFF
