Daytona Quarterback Club

Phillip Fulmer is the former head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers college football team, who compiled a 153-51 record (pending NCAA sanctions requiring Alabama to vacate a win in 2005) from 1992-2008 as head coach. He is best known for coaching the Volunteers in the first ever BCS National Championship Game in 1998, defeating Florida State University. Fulmer was the school's 20th head football coach.

153-51*

A vacated win doesn't count in the record books as a win for us. The game is just erased.

So the correct record is 152-51*

* Denotes that a piss-poor offensive performance by Fulmer's Vols was bailed out by the Bammers' cheating

That last line reminds me of the extra beers required to make it through UT games. Phil's gut wrenching coaching. Bammer cheats, always has---always will. It defines their legacy-- FAIC.

Fulmer said he was still po'ed about how he was fired in front of a room full of Gators. I can't find the link to get the comments because I'm on the road. Can someone find them and drop the link here?

Just heard this on Basilio. Is this true and in what context? If so, I'm shocked. Combine this with the UF poser selling hotdogs in X and Y section last weekend, I'm officially breeding hate on any and all UF fans.

"I'm still PO'd to say the least. There's probably a couple of people there that I'm not going to invite to Christmas dinner any time soon," Fulmer said. "I've chosen the best I can to take the high road. I really love Tennessee, so let there be no doubt about that. It's very much a part of me."

"Most people shook my hand and say, "Go Gators,' so I got it figured out pretty quick. I did feel at home when I came out here and saw all of this orange, but that went downhill real fast too," Fulmer said. "When you've got an open bar for about 200 Gators right before the Tennessee coach speaks, it can get a little hairy."

Hey man, it was a good gig....2 dozen of the finest glazed and only 30 mins of his time.

With all the buyout money, I seriously doubt Fulmer needed the speaking fee. Being the main speaker at a Gator fan club during UT-FL game week was meant as a slap in the face to UT fans and supporters.

Who would those couple of people be?
I am sick of this taking the higher road crap.

I'm glad he feels the need to tell us he's taking the high road. Most of the time that's something you shut up and do rather than talk about.

He's a bitter old, successful man

A bitter old, successful, rich man however.

"Former Tennessee football coach Phillip Fulmer spoke before the Daytona Beach Quarterback Club on Monday and said he's still upset about being let go at UT."

I would be upset too if I got fired.

Many fans and coaches are still PO'd about the talent (or lack thereof) that CPF left behind. Also, you're not taking the high road if you have to say it 1,000 times.
