Yes, I know he's never been our biggest fan.
Anyway, the former never stopped Motor UGA lineman said on Espns College Football Live yesterday that the Vols Oline will keep them from winning the East.

Oh, please let us beat the dawgs this year in Athens.

Didn't take much "analysis" to recognize dumpster fire. Impossible to argue against him after 1 game. Hoping the OL redeems themselves tomorrow with a solid performance at the BoB and restores our hope for a special season!

Unlike the defense which recovered at half-time ("adjusted") and shut them out the rest of the game including OT, the O-line didn't seem to react/adjust as needed - against much smaller opponents. App St. epitomized a "swarming defense" for sure. Perhaps it was the play calling or poor execution. I just hope we don't have to lose 4 games before CBJ recognizes what many of us saw last year - that our offense in many situations is predictable and vanilla.

To think we could have had Pittman instead of Mahoney makes me sick.

Anybody that doesn't think Sam Pittman is the best OL coach in the country, in his short tenure here he put 4 starters in the league,
2 first round picks, and it would have been 3 if not for Tiny's knees.

He turned the Arkansas OL into a juggernaut, and alas, he's going to do the same thing in Athens, regardless of how much some people
are in denial. A major gaffe!

Please one of the "inside guys"on here send this to your contact this. Nothing fires up a team or group on a ream like being callled out by a douche.

The only way we could have kept Pittman is by not hiring Butch in the first place. His offensive staff is the way it is for a reason. They're all yes-men for the "great infallible offense."

I wish we would have kept Chaney. I loved that O, throwing the ball. Damn, the forward pass is such a great concept.

Doesn't take a genius to figure out the Vols have major problems with the Oline, because Pollack's certainly not a genius.

Pollack is terrible. Always talking, but never really saying anything. If he would have said this BEFORE the season, I would give him credit. As is, he just spews what he hears and reads and passes it off as insight. He is only saying what everyone who watched the game was saying a week ago today.

I have to say I thought the same think after the App game. Hopefully it's a knee jerk reaction to one bad game.

I can't comprehend why Butch (and many, many other HCs) are so loyal to underperforming assistants.

Maybe it's the long hours and the relationships you build with them. Maybe your wives are friends....

It's tough to say, but Azzani, Mahoney should not be on the staff much longer.

Fulmer was guilty as well with people like Randy Sanders, Pat Washington and several others.

It's a multimillion dollar business but it's often managed like the bff lunchroom table.

Wait a couple of weeks and Pollack may be saying the offensive line "is the reason that we win the East". Too many of you take these commentators way too seriously...

Heh, I've noticed a dramatic increase in the post-frequency of our few Dawg friends in the VolNation forums, these past few days since we almost laid and egg and UGa beat UNC.

I figure Pollack barking about the Vols' chances is pretty much the same thing, only on TV.

Bulldawgs smell blood, they think they may have a chance to win the East after all, so they're getting brave, coming out of their dawghouses.

Hopefully they'll slink back in within the next 3-4 weeks. :)

Go Vols!

Those calling for Pittman need to look at his history. He and Chaney are tight and he follows him. First to UT, then to Arkansas and now to UGA.

He's very, very good but for some reason wants to work with JC.

This is what I kinda think too. Doesn't really bring anything to the table. McElroy is the opposite, which is why he is a rising star.

Sometimes it is who a coach works with that makes the difference.

The way some of you people lick Pittman's sack is ignorant, embarrassing and ridiculous. He was here one season and did not recruit any of the players such Ja'Waun James who are in the NFL and you can't really give him credit for his development either. Pittman did well at Ark but to call them a 'juggernaut' is pure hyperbole... and the best O line coach in the country line is just dumb. He is a journeyman coach just like Chaney. Let's see if he is even coaching at UGA in 5 years - I doubt it!

... and you know what it truly pathetic about this? When Pittman was here in 2012, Vol fans here were saying how stupid we were for letting Harry Hiestand go and how Hiestand was the best in the country and so much better. The grass is always greener on the other side... and VN still fickle as all living hell!

Hard to argue with him. Anybody catch Greg Mcelroy break down our OL from the APP State game? Showing 3 DL continously getting to Dobbs while we had 7 to block.
Go back and look at the underthrown Josh Smith play that was reviewed and said to hit the ground. Their 3 beat our 7. Josh couldn't get everything he needed to on the throw because he was getting hit. If they would have blocked thats a touchdown.

His O lines have led the SEC in fewest sacks allowed 4 times.

He has already recruited 3 4* o linemen to UGA

Nick Saban tried very hard to hire him

He's been an o line coach for 19 years

In recent NFL drafts, 8 players coached by him have been drafted

WHAT? Talk about out of touch, Hiestand would have been run out of town on a rail has he not left. The fact of the matter is that Pittman developed those guys, he developed Arky's OL, and you're just pissed because all this is going to come back and haunt us once roots take in Athens. Sorry, you couldnt be more wrong. :loco:

You aren't paying attention to how little time he has freaking spent in each place! To give him credit for either Fulton or James is absurd! He is a journeyman coach just like I said. And that sack stat does not prove much. I really would rather have Hiestand.
