This topic brings up another question. Against WKU we rushed 42 times and those were broken down into 18, 11, 8, and 5 carries amongst the 4 backs. Does everyone think we will continue to see similar ratios of carries between these 4 or will it just depend on how close the game is and who is running well that day? Do all 4 continue to consistently get their chances to pound the rock? At some point does Bryce start getting more chances than Hardesty?

As the competition gets better the ratio will tilt towards Hardesty and Brown. Against a team like UF I think Hardesty and Brown split 90% of the carries.

8 carries, 42 yards, 2 TD's...not bad.
there is only one ball!

M. Hardesty RB...... 18-160/1 18-160/1
Bryce Brown RB...... 11-104/1 11-104/1
Tauren Poole RB..... 5-62/0 5-62/0
David Oku RB........ 8-42/2 8-42/2
1 of Oku's tds was a give me set up by Poole, I don't remember the other.

I'd say it's hard to be in the doghouse when you are 3rd and in front of Tauren Poole, who by all accounts has pounded the rock hard since Spring.

On a side note (in response to an above post), I noticed that Hardesty came out twice as we neared the goal line, and BB came in. That's got to be a little tough on a RB. You know they want to see the checkerboards!

CLK mentioned how things worked out on the TD runs on his TV show Sunday. We rotate backs every other play so if 1 guy takes it down inside the 5, then the next guy gets the chance to score if its a run play. He specifically mentioned he hated Poole didn't get to visit the checkerboards after the effort he showed in his runs. But, that's the way our offense is ran and I don't see any of our RBs complaining if they all continue to perform well. I don't see another school in the entire COUNTRY with the depth at RB as we do. Any of our guys could be a solid #2 or even starter pretty much wherever. That's an awesome feeling knowing that we have 4 guys at RB who can get the job done. Also nice knowing that with 4 guys contributing and being successful, we remain fresh for the grind of the 4th quarter. We WILL finish games this year. Win or lose, this team will play 4 WHOLE quarters and 60 solid minutes. Really love our depth at WR too...I knew we had great potential, but the way our young guys look, all I can say is GO VOLS!!! Orange freakin' swarm!!!! And lovin' how next year's class is shaping up too--reel 'em in coaches!!!

I doubt the rumor but in reality the only guy that has even a hint of a complaint is Poole. To me he looked better than Oku. I know they're different styles and Oku has the homerun potential... but I loved what Poole did.
