Just when I was really getting pumped I saw the "C" word come up...Jon, we are counting on you cuz, be the man we saw vs LSU when Ainge was hurt brotha, you got this playa.
Yeah...as bad as I ragged on him last year, I am still hopeful that it was just a product of Clawson's new and overly complex scheme (flipping OL...wtf?). I hope this kid can snap out of it the same way Ainge did after his horrendous Sophomore year.

We need him to come on in a bad way. We'll see...

It's really mind-boggling the talent we are going to have at running back for the foreseeable future. Hardesty will likely start and will be solid if he can stay healthy. Poole is no slouch. Toney Williams looks amazing as a freshman, though he needs some work on technique. Bryce Brown -- what can you say that hasn't been said? And Oku to boot... And we have Eddie Gran coaching them up. Who wouldn't want to come to Tennessee and block for these guys??

Hardesty doesn't get my full respect until he manages to rush for 1,000 yards a season. The guy just hasn't produced yet. If the hype is warranted then Brown will start over him the first game.

i think a guy that has fought through the injuries that Hardesty has, and worked as hard as he has to get the opportunity to start this year, deserves full respect.

I agree. The injuries have really plagued him. That run against Cal in the opener in '06 still gives me chills. I thought he was gonna be the next Travis Henry. Wishful thinking i guess.

I was sitting down low on the opposite side of the field along the 10 yard line near the end zone they were heading toward when he pulled off that play (the corner where Ainge hit Swain on his TD). I was watching the game with a Cal grad/fan that came down to watch the game with me and I'll never forget the look on his face when Hardesty came out of that mass of bodies, sprinting down the field. He kept on saying...he was down...no way they don't blow a whistle...why aren't they blowing a whistle?? Ahh....sweet memory...

i agree. give the guy a break. injuries have hampered him, and foster was the lead back anyways. creer was ahead of him too. and now hes busted his arse to get where he is. he wont be a 1,000 yard back seeing as how it will be running back by committee this year but he will do his part well enough

Creer was only ahead of Hardesty for a game or two, and I'm pretty sure we lost both of them. Creer has behind Hardesty pretty much the entire time Kiffin's been here.

Wish i couldve been there, that was probable the most complete game weve played this decade against a decent opponent.

noted. but he should still be regarded more highly, considering that he has worked through his many injuries. respect should be given, if or if not rushing for 1,000 yards.

I think that people tend to forget about Oku. Oku is a very talented young man and I have been very impressed watching him on film. He has great acceleration and breakaway speed. He will be very good.

Bryce Brown is in a different league. I can find nothing that he doesn't do well. Best recruit since Adrian Peterson bar none.

It's amazing that we totally overlook Oku. He is in the shadow of Bryce. In the recruiting world we are trying to get that one two punch combo and selling to kids that Bryce needs that compliment back. Well if I was Oku I would use that as some serious Moto to outperform everyone including Bryce. U got to love our depth at the RB position. Oku is the no 1 APB!!! It does not get much better than that. Either we are overlooking a major talent or Bryce is that good or a little bit of both. Embarassment of riches

Awesome story.

That game seems like it was such a long time ago, with the way we've played the last couple of years.:cray:
