David cutcliffe has no problem saying it's my fault.

Sounds like a man who's scared for his job. But he never says its all on me. Just it starts with, so others are invovled too. Typical fulmer yada yada.

This is exactly what I was talking about earlier. Somebody finds a quote where he takes the blame and now he's not taking the blame forcefully enough.

Phil isn't pointing at himself this year becuase he already did that with the letter he issued saying it wasn't acceptable two years ago when the Vols went 5-6. If he takes it like a man saying it's his fault this year again he's admitting defeat. Don't look for him to take any blame this year for how things are going.

The thing is, that letter was hardly an acceptance of personal responsibilty. He hinted at himself being responsible for "some" of the blame.

Comment from Fulmer from utsports.com

The last time I looked at a map, Knoxville wasn't on the coast.

After the either Cal or Southern Miss Cuttcliffe said they were done being cute on 3rd and short.

At Florida he went to the end zone inside the Gators 20 on one of those 3rd and shorts. Cute: Not really, Stupid: To me, yes.

I wonder, since he has no problem admitting this if he has no problem, lets say, smacking Phil in the head and telling him to burn the Offensive play book and MAKE ANOTHER!!!!

Here's one way to take the blame:

ESPN.com: NCB - Knight gives back a year's salary to Texas Tech

"I just feel like I had a product, and it broke," Knight said. "You shouldn't have to pay for it."

...

"You heard me talk after games all season long about missed opportunities and how we didn't see things," Knight said. "Those are things that have got to be taught. Learning those things is just as much a responsibility of the teacher as the ones learning those things."

This thread is a perfect example that people only hear what they want to hear. There is a difference between hearing and listening.

CPF post game audio after the UF game at the 1:20 mark:
"We didn't play well and I take responsibility for that."

Feel free to listen to the audio at utsports.com in the multimedia section. So there you have it. You folks can move on and find something else to complain about.

I wish my teachers thought that way

All we keep hearing is that the new receivers are coming along nicely, but are not ready yet. How ready do you have to be to catch the sideline pass we always throw...WTF!!!

Ironically enough, California and Florida are coastal states.

Correct, and that would be relevant if UT had played in California and then played in Florida. That wasn't the case. We played in California, then in Knoxville, and THEN in Florida. Fulmer's trying to spin some sob story about how we've been on the road forever traveling from coast to coast playing road games. That doesn't fly. It's just another pitiful excuse from a pitiful coach.

Just an excuse, yes... but I think what he was getting at was after playing in California, then stopping at Knoxville for a week, and then going to Florida, they'll now be home for a month.

There are plenty of things to criticize Fulmer about, but I wouldn't think a statement about being at home for a month now would be one of them.

The problem is CPF says that, but his definition is that he'll take the heat for it but that it isn't his FAULT.

He always proceeds to blame the players through "bad play" or "faulty execution"...read "I'll take the responsibility for it but it was the players' fault because I've elimintaed myself as a possibility for fault."

Why miss an opportunity to turn something into a negative though?
