Be mindful to keep an eye on the contract situation of UT athletics director/vice chancellor Dave Hart. Now with four years under his belt, Hart is in the fifth year of what originally was a five-year deal. He's got more than 10 months left on his pact, but there have been some discussions about getting a new deal for Hart. He would like a new five-year deal, but there are not indications that term is an active part of current discussions.

AD Hart should only be on a 2 to 3 year contract and be performance based just like coaches should be.

I'm curious though...Since Fulmer really isn't qualified to be the AD what people would VN nominate to replace Hart if the powers that be decide to let him walk?

#BrickbyBrick...VFL...GBO!!!

Why has Hart done a good job?

Because he isn't as incompetent as Hambone?

Hart needs to be gone in 10-months. He has barely tread water. We should be lining up a solid AD hire if we had any sense.

And throw in new UT President while we're at it.

I think it's time to replace Hart AND Cheek with somebody with TN connections. They don't have to be graduates or natives but some connection. For instance (and this is NOT a suggestion just an example), Spurrier. Blackburn is an outstanding example. There are many others that could fill either chair. The key is not to wait 10 months. Find a replacement now and prepare for the transition at the end of the contract(s).

Been saying this for a while now that Hart wont be here through next football season unless something drastic happens. Hes made more enemies than friends.

Why do some insist that the only good hire have UT ties?

You gotta continually cycle in new blood to keep an organization fresh. Gotta continually reexamine the way things are done.

Does anyone honestly think the AD is in worse shape today than it was in 2011?

Again, how is the University (not athletics) in worse shape today than when he started?

Facilities and programs seem to be on the rise. Enrollment is solid. Where's the problem?
