Dark Souls 3 (Xbox One & PS4)

Made it to Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. First of all I have to say it's probably my favorite place I've ever been in a game. The view when you first arrive is gorgeous and the level design and enemies are top notch.

It's hard as hell though. Every time I think an area is hard the next one is even harder.

Those Boreal Knights that swing and swing and swing... The boss there...phew

I just finished IotBV. As Big Orange said, the boss is miserable. Hardest in the game so far. The whole area is brutal and very hard to learn your way around.

Just got to farrons keep. Joined the wolf covenant I'm going to work on getting wolfs blood sword grass so I can rank up. Pretty tough area so far with all the poison

Defeated the abyss watchers. Do I go to back to the road of sacrifices which is by the bonfire before the abyss watchers bonfire or do I go onto the catacombs?

Well guys I've never reached the point where I just wanted to quit trying in a game but I'm honesty getting pretty pissed at this point. This Irithyll of Boreal Valley is kicking my ass. I can't even get past the beginning.

It is a VERY rough place. Toughest area in the game as far as I've seen.

Don't give up. It's the tall spinning guys that are getting you? Or the fire throwing tall dude? Once you get past to the next bonfire, they can be avoided for the most part. What level are you? Armor? Weapon and weapon level?

Ok once I got a few more bonfires unlocked it eased up. I ended up in the dungeon and backtracked because I didn't want to do that yet. I made it to the boss, and of course you guys were right. lol. He is a bi#%*.

Yeah, the Irethyl Dungeon is where you'll want to go after the boss you just fought and the area/boss you find after him.

Pontiff is an aggressive boss. Definitely one of the more difficult ones. I had to fight him again in NG+ last night 😑

The big skeleton guys in catacombs are something else.

Yeah I thought they were bad until I got to where I am now.

I guess the worst part of the area was they always put those knights in trios and they put fire guys nearby. So luring one at a time without alerting a fire knight was hard. The fire guys actually were weak at close combat fights but his little minions would tear me up and I couldn't focus on one or the other.

for someone with hardly an exposure to this series, is this a good game to buy?

Made it to Anor Londo. I'm not sure if I should continue or do the dungeon first. My gut tells me the dungeon needs to be done but I really want to explore the city.
