Sponsor Logos on Uniforms

Well, the time has come, boys. They’re officially going to allow sponsors on college football uniforms. The “T Mobile Clemson Tigers powered by Shell” will be taking the field after this short little break brought to you by Chipotle.

Please, please, please……do not let them put sponsor logos on our uniforms. Danny White, I don’t care how much money Pilot promises us. Please make a stand here. Please keep the one little smidge of class college football has left in tact. We don’t need Google powered uniforms. This is opening up the door for our players to look like they’re wearing NASCAR suits.

You guys make enough money. Please turn this down!

Coming around turn 4 is the Goodwrench down low and the DuPont up high. The number 5 making a huge gap closure to bring down the number 2 Food City runner at the 5 yard line!

Nevermind the Adidas/Nike logo that’s been there for 20+ yrs.

I don’t think anyone has a problem with the brand of the jersey being shown. But a patch from an advertiser that has nothing to do with the uniform is pretty much the middle finger to everyone who loves college football for NOT being the NFL

The clothing/sportswear logo makes perfect sense. It’s relative. People buy officially licensed merch, from the school, from said brand. It’s part of why a brand like Nike or Adidas signs a deal with the school in the first place.

But now I wonder, will the fan merchandise of say, Indiana, include a Chipotle and Google logo on the fan jerseys? On the t shirts? It’s stupid.

If it’s not tampons, ED or condoms, it should be outlawed. We have to be able to laugh a little bit if they’re going to smear Dookie on our orange and white.

It's already starting...
Local school is a perennial state powerhouse.
Local radio station has agreed to be their only broadcast partner and gives the high school money for that agreement.

In turn, the station sells "ad sponsors" for certain things, like the insurance company down the road has "bought" 1st downs..."That's another Insurance Services 1st down" on the radio every time one is achieved.

Local school was also approached by local car dealer when it came time for stadium upgrades like new scoreboard. So now they have Charlie Chevy Stadium at Patriot Field.

So, its happening already. Just not on the cosmic level of college yet...yet.
