Well, the time has come, boys. They’re officially going to allow sponsors on college football uniforms. The “T Mobile Clemson Tigers powered by Shell” will be taking the field after this short little break brought to you by Chipotle.

Please, please, please……do not let them put sponsor logos on our uniforms. Danny White, I don’t care how much money Pilot promises us. Please make a stand here. Please keep the one little smidge of class college football has left in tact. We don’t need Google powered uniforms. This is opening up the door for our players to look like they’re wearing NASCAR suits.

You guys make enough money. Please turn this down!

Howzabout this for a regulation:
Larger (in length and width) than any sponsor's name or logo MUST APPEAR the name of the country in which the uniform was manufactured.

We could at least build in motivations to either improve some things, or shame negative practices.

I get the sentiment, but at this point, what exactly are we preserving? College football as we knew it is already completely shot to hell. Whether a sponsor is or isnt on the uni changes nothing as far as how I feel about the sport now. You cant get a little bit pregnant.

It comes down to money. 100% of the time.

Some NBA teams make eight-figure sums on selling parts of their team uniforms to advertisers. Sports Business Journal reported earlier this month that research has shown college football and basketball teams could earn between $500,000 and $12 million for their patches.

The portal/NIL madness can be overhauled. I’m expecting a change in the window and/or transfer limits to one time per player, as well as a cap on NIL. But if we let Pilot and Amazon on our uniforms to start, this is just adding more fuel to the fire. College football and college sports in general can be saved, but we’re at a crucial point now where someone needs to step in.

Hold up…..I’ve got an idea. How about we sponsor a team, say…..LSU. And put Pantone 151 Power T’s on their uniforms.

This is something I could get behind now 😂

My fear is it heads the direction like WNBA or some soccer leagues...some of them atrocious.

At work, so haven't looked it up, but I believe someone said MLB has rules on size, pattern, colors, number, etc.
IF they can do that, then I'm fine with it...we could have a sponsor for each game to let the smaller companies get some love.

You're nuts dude. The more money that UT can bring in, the better chance we have to compete in this world of NIL. Let it go. If you attend the games in person, and you feel this strongly about promoting the sport, you might want to start following pee wee sports.
