Last week some media people were bitchin at him about the BYU game. It makes complete sense to pay $2 mil to complete the contract (BYU fulfilled their part by playing here) and then get $3mil+ from Nashville to play Va there. Net-$1 mil+ and little travel, game inside the state, playing a ACC team & major recruiting area. He’s doing a great job.

That’s what real ADs do! He is a freaking master and the best thing UT has done since hitting Tony Vitello! That move to replace BYU was genius!

The AD job is alot about managing people with various degrees of ego but they all have egos. This is the most cohensive athletic dept I have seen, from the outside granted, in many years at UT. THAT is where winning starts.

Unfortunately the Vol fan base has had so much to bitch and moan about for so long, a segment of us cant stop even when there's really nothing to complain about at the time.

A little confused here. Wasn’t it Fulmer who paid the big bucks to keep Barnes from going to UCLA? I like White for our football Coach.

Fulmer paid the bucks when Boyd told him to. PF didn’t want to do it resulting in bad relationship between PF & RB.

I know football is the horse that pulls the cart but White's the AD, not just the football director. I'm one of those weirdos who follows the NACDA Director's Cup to see how we do as an overall program, across all sports. That thing Stanford won like a hundred times in a row, til Texas won last year. I couldn't find stats as far back as Dickey but I thought this was interesting. Bammer Dave looks like he did more damage than Hamilton ever did. And so far White's got a bunch of teams winning.
