Danny Tax and Adidas to save the day....

Right, but also White didn't drive a hard bargain with Nike. I feel that he just took the first offer from Adidas. Like while we get an uptick in pay, Penn State is the one who really came out on top with their Adidas deal.

I just know that I will be in Knoxville when the clearance weekend goes down at the store with all the discontinued Nike stuff that gets all dumped before day 1 of back at Adidas.
Yeah I’m definitely gonna try to get in on that

LSU is giving Kiffin 25 Mil. for NIL.
And Tennessee is about to be getting millions directly form Adidas for NIL, on top of the “talent fee” and on top of that Spyre and The Volclub. Something tells me that it will be close to what LSU is giving if not more.

I feel like everything has fallen apart since the Adidas deal. Lost our baseball coach, missed a fg to beat uga, didn't beat any ranked teams in football, lost to little brother.

I wasn't opposed to Nike but I'm starting to wonder....
Great, it’s officially THE Adidas curse now, thanks a lot!

Nike has faced accusations of influencing recruits to go to the University of Oregon, particularly through its close relationship with the university and the alleged provision of resources and information to the Oregon basketball program. A 2017 report detailed emails where Nike executives offered recruiting advice to Oregon's coach, while other accusations, like those made by attorney Michael Avenatti, have pointed to alleged payments to influence players. While Nike and the University of Oregon deny the impropriety of these interactions, these documented instances highlight a history of close ties and allegations of undue influence.
I don’t doubt they try to get the best, but they can still only take 25-30 kids a year. Their influence has not hurt Bama, UGA, OSU etc who are all Nike schools.

I don’t know that the Adidas money goes towards NIL. I believe it goes to the athletic department in general. We were getting money from Nike and Adidas long before NIL.

What are you starting to wonder exactly? Please elaborate so I can gauge just how ridiculous this post actually is.

TN and PSU appear to be paying heavily since Adidas. Maybe Indiana is the flagship program?

No.

As I posted previously ...

Kirby Smart and Chip Kelly have both said nobody will outbid Oregon if they want a player bad enough. That's probably correct since Phil Knight ($44 billion) is an avid booster and Steve Ballmer's ($118 billion) wife was an Oregon cheerleader and is on the school's board of trustees. Also Dan Lanning said he would not consider leaving for another school. When asked to elaborate he said "the grass is greener here".

Then there's Michigan and Larry Ellison ( $250 billion) who's girlfriend/wife is a big Michigan fan and who allegedly pushed him to donate a significant sum to them last year.

There are many schools with wealthier alums than UT but a lot of those that might support their schools in other ways won't contribute to their athletic programs which is their prerogative..... and honestly the way it should be.

If Harvard alums wanted to buy the best football team available they probably could do so.
The traditional boosters of bourbon distributors, car salesmen, and injury lawyers isn't going to cut it...

It takes a Phil Knight, Mark Cuban, Ellison level billionaire behind the program to build a roster right now.

UT doesn't have that person.
Until rules are put in place to cap monies and such, UT is going to be middle of the pack.

How many of you guys "contribute" NIL funds to UT? It's pretty easy to talk about spending other people's money for your own pleasure.
Please tell us the donation amount needed to be allowed to “talk about spending”. I’d like to know if I’m doing enough. We weren’t aware you held the NIL check book.

You likely don’t pay any of Heups salary but prob still don’t care to comment on our state of football year to year. What a silly comment.

Coaching and building a team come into play at some point. People like Illinois, Vandy, and Indiana have no where close to the recruiting classes we do, yet they’re still getting it done. The money matters but so does everything else.

The cap for 2025-2026 is $20.5M for school revenue sharing. Which is separate from traditional NIL, which I assume schools still cannot contribute to. So not sure how they are giving the $25M.
Probaly same way they were paying before all this mess started. But i am sure everyone is abiding by the rules. lol
