Did he play Saturday and, if so, how did he do? Are they going to let him stay at MLB?

Glad they're going to let him stay there. At DE next year we've got Kongbo, Phillips, Taylor, Mixon, Austin Smith and McDaniel. Definitely need to keep more depth at middle linebacker.

Yaaaaaaaaayyyy Danny Bituli!!!

Before this year is over, Daniel is going to play an extremely key role on this team. He is a tackling machine. Just needs to work on the various pass coverage assignments.

He shed a block and had a nice goal line tackle. UF scored on a later play but he looked good.

Yes and yes, for now. He was in at LB and was in on a tackle in the first half iirc. Also played special teams as usual. Heard that for now, he'll continue to play LB and not move to DE. This is good news IMO since we have approximately 412 stud DEs on the roster.

It may seem like we have a ton of DEs but lets take a look.

We lose
Barnett
Lewis
Vereen.

Thats a lot of production.

So for DE Spots in 2017 we'll have
- Konbgbo jr
- Phillps jr
- Taylor so
- Mixon sr
- Smith so

Hmm. Yeah we should keep Bituli at MLB.

Bituli/Blakely updates: Jones was highly complimentary of freshman linebacker Daniel Bituli, who got some significant playing time on Saturday in UT’s goal-line package:

Butch Jones praises Daniel Bituli: "His role will continue to increase at linebacker and on special teams…I’m ecstatic about him”

Freshman Ja’Quain Blakely is on track to redshirt, per Jones, as the Vols evaluate him as a linebacker or a defensive end in the future.
