From Wynne,Ark. D'Angelo was rated a 4* until he committed to Mymistake (Memphis State) and was dropped to a 2* That just shows something about the ratings..Dexter McLutchen was a 3* @ Ole Miss, and we see what he did..especially to us..Small and couldn't see him until he was 5 yards down field...I think Jabo might be our future surprise..After all Jay recruited him...

I agree but they (the recruiting sites) will not bump him to a four start if he committed to us...sad story but...the truth...

Threads like this pop up every month or so and they need to stop. Just because you can name some underrated players doesn't mean that stars are completely irrelevant. The reality is that highly rated players are more likely to succeed than those who are ranked lower, just like players drafted in the first round are more likely to succeed than players drafted in the seventh.

These should be retitled, "yeah, but" threads because they are rationalizations for claiming outliers as being the norm. Prefer realistic analysis since what we will see on the field will be the real world. There has been enough proof provided everybody that the general rule that stars matter is correct.

You know your football team's coach is a crap recruiter when you start posting diamond-in-the-rough 3-stars who have went on to succeed. Newsflash, geniuses - Bama wins Rivals nearly every year under Satan. They also have won three NTs the last four years. Correlation? Duhhhhh.....
