He once had interest in the SEC (razorbacks) back in the day.

He'd be someone I would hire.

Thoughts?

He has succeeded at Oregon, and did at Creighton before. He wouldn't be my first call, but we could (and likely will) do much worse. He seems, based on his coaching history and roots, to be more of a midwest-west coast guy though. We likely won't outbid Oregon anyway.

Too late for Danny Manning who would have been my choice. I'd like to see someone from the Larry Brown tree. Or Larry himself if he werent 102. All his old guys do well.....Self, Cal, Popovich. What about Tim Jankovich. Coached at Kansas for 10 yrs under Self, then at Southen Illinois, and now he's Larrys Coach in Waiting at SMU. Choices are gonna be slim at this point.

Cuonzo is a nice enough guy, but he was gonna fail and it's the best thing for UT. Glad it happened. Obviously with the fan base not burning mattresses yesterday, everyone else is glad as well.

Or Josh Schertz from LMU. That guys a winner and still young.

Of course if Bruce would stay home before Mayflower Movers show up......
