last i heard this was close to a done deal as well........

what do we think of this?

personally, good get for MSU......definitely a different direction compared to who they've brought in in the past.

but i can't imagine leaving Gainesville in the shape it's curently in is worse than a HC job in Starkville.

i wonder if all this transpired over the phone......has he ever been to Starkville?

anyway.....thought it was a good hire....... for State.

Why would mullen leave UF, even at age 33, and take that dead end job? He'll be fired in a few years. You can't win there unless you cheat (see Jackie Sherrill)

It's hard to tell that it's a done deal with ESPN only talking about if he will coach the NC game. Which he apparently wants to, but States recruiting schedule is similar and the chance Urban may not let him.

Mullen signed for 4 years at 1.2 million per

He is now a millionaire. I'll take that dead end job today. It may work... if it doesn't, he will be snatched up quick as an asst coach. Win.

I guess we'll see who the mastermind of the Florida offense really was considering how long he and Meyer had been together.

For some reason, I think the Gators will be just fine.

Florida would have paid him mil per year to stay, then he could have had his pick of top jobs next year.
