I'll take that as proof Colorado is looking to deemphasize football on the Boulder campus.

Does Colorado still have that insane rule that state employees, including coaches at state universities, can only sign one year contracts?

Pretty sure that's a thing of the past. I seem to remember Bzdelik's deal is four or five years.

I'm shocked they made a decision to stay with Hawkins instead of going with Krispy Creme. That really speaks to Failmer's respect around the country.

If I am understanding Matt Hinton correctly, Colorado simply cannot afford a three million dollar buyout at this time. They are hoping that next year, they will be in better financial shape. So it does appear that football is being deemphasized at this time.
