Dallas Thomas & Miami Dolphins

The same goes for context and lack thereof. We don't have context or tone with ANY of this. By the sound of the Dolphin players, it wasn't aggressive. People need to Stop calling it abuse without any context.

I was just making a general statement. I think Martin may be over blowing this entire situation. It doesn't change the fact that Incognito is a piece of trash, though.

Miami Dolphins teammates say Richie Incognito, Jonathan Martin were close friends - Miami Dolphins - MiamiHerald.com

Read the section "message without context".

Just found this. It was outrageously irresponsible of the "source" to leave the "ok call me back" at the end of that transcript, which is why I don't trust that garbage.

It's context. That message sounds like a drunk message several of my friends would leave as well. It seems Martin is going to look very bad in all of this.

The dolphin locker room is clearly the only reputable source at this point.

I'm more disturbed at a team made up of 80-85% African-Americans that find nothing wrong with Incognito dropping N-Bombs. Where I come from there would be a "riot goin on".

It's their choice to be comfortable with that. It's not up to you to tell them it's unacceptable.

If it was my choice, id deem it unacceptable if used by any and all races.

ESPN NFL - Jonathan Martin had issues with several Dolphins, not just Richie Incognito, his agent says

And that's the whole point. The majority of people see a tremendous amount of issues within this Dolphin organization. However I disagree as I do have every right to state my opinion as does anyone else. Perhaps that's been the main problem all along no one stood up and voiced their opinion in that locker room. There is no acceptance to using racial slurs of any kind. That is unacceptable. Laughing or joking when using it at someone is demeaning, ignorant and only shows that your IQ is in question. So yeah, it's up to me and others to speak out against it otherwise it would be considered acceptable.

It's a multi-million dollar culture. See the rap industry and culture surrounding it. You have every right to state your opinion but you have no control over people who are comfortable with their peers using it just because they are Caucasian, Hispanic or Asian as opposed to African Americans saying it among themselves. Until the double standard is recognized by all and deemed a slur regardless of who says it, this word will continue to be common.

Again, I don't like it to be used period. By anyone, regardless of race. :hi:

A group of people being comfortable like this is NOT uncommon especially in a locker room.

And the exposure from this has been magnified in many directions. When you see the GM and maybe the HC lose there jobs it will be a call for change not only in personnel but in the culture of the way things are being done. Stay tuned.
