Anyone else been paying attention to the buzz around this album? There's tons of talk and the official audio for the first single "Get Lucky" was released today:

Can't wait. This combined with Swedish House Mafia being done, hopefully house music moves away from repetitive glorified DJ ish and back into actual production quality. The single is great.

Yeah I'm not a fan of house (or electronic of any kind really) but Daft Punk is awesome. Judging by the activity in this thread the Frenchies aren't so big around Tennessee though.

Not a huge fan, but I like. Definitely good for the genre like Milo said.

I like them for the most part. Listening to them takes mr back to the summer of '98. This girl I used to run around with listened to them non stop.

The guys behind the masks in DP are some of the most creative and knowledgeable in electronic music. Can't wait to hear the full release.

Went back to all analog recording for the new disco-heavy album. Any other fans of the Einsteins of Electronica? Thoughts on the album?

Odd that they've seemingly constructed the album as an homage to disco, with an explicit homage to Giorgio Moroder, yet this is the first album where the synths largely take a back seat.

The music is good, instruments sound great, production is top notch, but the whole thing leaves me a bit confused.

Anyone else notice in the Monaco GP that Kimi Raikkonen had a Daft Punk sponsorship on the nose of his car (right near the cockpit)?

Here's a Daft Punk escort for Kimi and Grosjean

I have always thought Daft Punk are wayyy overrated. I would take a host of American DJs above them. Just my opinion though.

Kinda on topic. Saw David Guetta on Sunday night and it was pretty damn cool. It was at XS at the Wynn...probably the biggest party on the planet that night. House is the best scene for partying. It's not my favorite music but everyone is out to have a good time and is relatively friendly.

Meh. I like Get Lucky, but I've never been that into Daft Punk.

Is that a typical Sunday night for you, huff?

They used live studio musicians from the 70s and 80s. This is completely different from anything DP has ever done. There is only sampling on the final track.

Sounds great.

No doubt. Those who "don't like DP" should still give this one a listen. Pretty amazing music.

I've never even heard of daft punk. Picked this one up on a whim. Saw a tweet about it, had a cool album cover and I sampled it for a like a minute and decided to get it.

Not my thing but not disappointed I bought it. I'll keep it playing in the truck for a couple weeks.

For a good taste of "old Daft Punk," check out the album "Alive."
