I didn't believe it, no. I told him the buyout was too much for Clemson and called bs. But just in case I figured i would ask around.

There's no way he just walks away when he's owed the kind of money he's owed to get fired. As he said in his press conference, he's only 55. If he was 65 or 75, sure, then he might just walk away.

Stoops's dad also died on the field of a heart attack coaching a HS game, and he had told people for years (not publicly) that he wasn't going to let that happen to him. I don't know if Dabo has that in him. He seems too stubborn and defiant.
