There are several high schools in Chattanooga that are way down on the academic barometer. Bolden's alma mater is one of them. It used to be known as Tyner High School. Several years ago it was renamed Tyner Academy in hopes, I guess, of boosting its academic status. What a joke.

Chattanooga Tyner is supposed to be a magnet, a magnet for what down there I don't know. His teammate there signed with Auburn out of junior college and he couldn't make it there because of the same problem.

Bolden has all the tools. Looks like John Henderson. Just doesn't make as many plays. I think he has been a let down this year. The guy looks like a monster but has under acheived.

Probably play in the NFL 10 years and make 5 or 6 pro bowls when he leaves though.

Bolden has not really underperformed this year. He has been solid. He certainly has not overperformed though. I do not think the comparison to Henderson is completely accurate. Henderson was bigger and a little more talented than Bolden.

Tyner was not just renamed, it was turned into a magnet school. Basically, the school zone was decreased to a few neighborhoods adjacent the school and then enrollment opened to the entire county. Students have to apply and be accepted to enroll if they are outside the small zone. The magnet schools put an emphasis on a certain curriculum. Tyner's curriculum focuses on Math, Science and Technology.

I am a proud alum of Tyner High School. I was well prepared for life after high school.

Henderson was 6'7" 290lbs. Bolden is 6'6" 290lbs. The guy looks just like him.

I do agree he isn't near as talented. But I do think the kid could play better than he has. Does he even have a sack?
