Cutcliffe: Peyton won't coach

From what I've heard, Peyton is trying to get his 5th year of eligibility to come be the Vols QB. Of course, he'd have to win the starting job first.

At Middle Tennessee Sports Awards tonight, Peyton was guest and interviewed mid-way thru the awards by the Tennessean Sports Editor who had collected questions submitted by readers over the past few months. He said he would not be the quarterbacks coach at Tennessee and could not see himself coaching anywhere. He is very excited about Vols football this year and plans on being at the Battle of Bristol and Alabama games. Said he is a big supporter of Butch Jones and still consults with Fulmer and Cut when facing decisions. Had on Tennessee orange tie.

This is not a knock/shot at Butch, and its also completely true for 99% of ALL coaches out there. But I doubt CBJ has the cojones, courage, or confidence within himself to hire PM on his own. And that goes for every job at any capacity on the TN coaching staff. If PM wanted to coach here though, then CBJ couldn't say no. That wouldn't be allowed by the UT administration.

He'd not have any say so, or choice in the matter what so ever. CBJs hand would be bullishly forced. At the same time however, PM would NEVER go that route. He just wouldn't accept a coaching position unless he was welcomed here with open arms by CBJ. Neither scenario will EVER happen though. The chances of PM coaching here in the future are miniscule, as in less than .00001%. It's just not happening for multiple reasons.

Peyton is a donor to UT. He cannot participate in recruiting players behind the scenes or in any other way. His activities would be closely watched by compliance organization.

Do see him continuing his workouts with players.

I just don't see Peyton being a coach for a team, I could however see him managing a team or even owning one. Would be cool seeing him in Nashville

For enough money, peyton will take a coaching job in a few years----he can really score some big dollars.

I thought I heard he wanted to get into marijuana farming.....or maybe it was someone else.

Peyton Manning would never put the head coach at UT in a position to have to hire him. These Gruden/Manning pipe dreams are ****ing embarrassing. This BS should be locked in a forum where visitors can't see how freaking delusional a lot of our fan base is.
