Currie and Company unprofessional

I assumed the silence to be one of the smartest moves we had seen at Tennessee in a long time. I felt that provided our best chance at getting either a top coach from another power 5 program that they would throw big money at, or a legitimate coach from an independent or group of 5 with a good record and solid plan.

Schiano's record was not good and someone that send his defense charging a kneel down would have been bad enough. But not being ahead of the accusations was inexcusable. Currie has been around here long enough to know that, and so has the staff around him.

When I sit back and think about all the coaches they didn't even call to pursue this guy, I question their commitment to build a winning football program. Of course if they follow this mess up with bringing in the right coach? There is a chance we can move past this. A chance. Maybe a decent one.But going forward he needs to make smart choices and maybe have the guts to tell the Haslams this won't work.
I, too, felt that Currie's silence was an indication that the coach search was in good hands. I am getting too old to be blindsided like this.
