Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Miami, Florida State, and USC.

Clearly ON3's list is incomplete. At least a few of those six I mentioned (probably all of them) are spending more than South Florida, Ga Tech, Illinois, Rutgers, and Minnesota.

Nonetheless, it's nice to be ahead of everyone in the SEC and, if not all, then almost everyone nationwide.

There are definitely some surprises on the list. You would think OSU is spending plenty of money on recruiting with the classes they have had but then again.. maybe that is money that counts toward NIL money spent.

Someone needs to research to connection between recruiting budgets and 5 stars signin up! I bet it is causation more than correlation.

Then someone needs to reseach and see how Bamas 5 star dynasty happened before players could be paid. It kinda looks like their recruiting budget must have been pretty solid back in those days too.

UT’s NIL recruiting budget is the highest, but when you add NIL to that, it isn’t. So to me it’s kind of weird just to focus on the recruiting budget.

Historically we have always had the highest, or one of the highest recruiting budgets in the country because we were one of the first schools, along with Notre Dame, to recruit nationally. This really isn't anything new.

Agree. NIL money paid to the players is a much more significant factor.

We've always had to recruit regionally and nationally because historically the amount of high end prospects in Tennessee was very small. We're not like Florida, Georgia, LSU where you can almost field a team on in-state players. The quality of in-state talent has gotten significantly better over the years.

So yeah, we've always had a high recruiting budget to stay competitive.

I think this is dated info. UT is no longer #1 in 2025 (I believe). OSU, Texas, and TAMU are up there.
