Curious how people feel about the reason for the loss.

Who thinks there are major issues or this loss was a fluke and Tennessee will bounce back?

Me personally, I think this season will be a disaster because of Pruitt players vs Butch players. I don’t know, I hope not.

It concerns me that TN beat #21 Auburn and #12 KY last year, and just needed 1 win over either Mizzou or Vandy to make a bowl game, and couldn't pull it off (got whipped by both).
Coaching/motivating is a major issue.
It's interesting that he made dang sure we were ready for Auburn. Bammers hate Auburn.

Last three games:

5.5 point underdog 2018 vs Mizzou: lost 50-17 at home
4.5 point favorite 2018 vs Vandy: lost 38-13
26.5 point favorite 2019 vs GA State: lost 38-30 at home

Not much opportunity for optimism based on recent history, I’m afraid. Somethings wrong, and it’s not as simple as a good team that just wasn’t ready to play, at least not in my opinion. It is indeed puzzling. Hopefully we’ll see better this Saturday.

soon

oh wait we aren't doing that anymore

but in reality... I believe it "mostly" comes down to issues in the locker room. part of the team cares, part does not. I would personally not play anyone who doesn't care and play all freshman (or hell walk ons at this point) at least the fan base would be more acceptable to losing dinky games because we would then know what is going on and why we are having to rebuild and do that

I agree, and this is not an ALL statement, but whatever Butch and company taught them, some of these guys can't seem to move on the Pruitt way. I don't understand that logic, if you want to go to the next level, Priority one would be to play on a successful team and get noticed.......that is just me.

A lot of sh*t is going on with the team behind the scenes that we don't know about

I don't agree, if there was, we would have heard about it by now, a half a dozen or so doesn't make it a big issue. However, the players, not the coaches, need to fix that situation among themselves. Only the team really knows who is in and who is out.

The Big Orange got their our azz wooped and now they have spent a week getting ready for a game hopefully with the commitment that they will to each, players and coaches, give their all for the Big Orange against BYU....Amen !

Time to move on guys and gals. We got 11 more games. They could be good or bad, who knows which...but we can’t keep looking at this game over and over and over. Like JJ said, its a twelve game fight not one. It’s Thursday of a new game week, let’s cheer for this team no matter what.

Well said. I just don’t get it. How a bunch of 18-22 year olds couldn’t be ready mentally and emotionally for the first game of the season is extremely disconcerting. I partially blame the coaches for that but a lot is on the players themselves.

Just wonder if the LSU fans went this crazy when they got beat by Troy a few years ago.

Auburn was the perfect storm for us last year. Auburn was having some internal dysfunction, we were coming off a BYE while Auburn was playing their 7th straight game, and it was an 11:00am game. Had more to do with Auburn not being ready than anything we did, other than converting 7-8 chunk yardage gains through the air.

How could there possibly be no major issues?

I'll go with option 3, major issues that are hopefully corrected very soon.

Were we GA state’s perfect storm?

The problem with this entire Butch versus Pruitt players scenario a lot of people speak of is that if it is true, then the Butch players will wear off on the Pruitt players.

If that is the case, that is Pruitt not doing his part to change the culture.
