Cuonzo is a "Jumper" just like Dooley was.

I know a lot of Vols fans are just tired of losing, in football, basketball, and baseball after decades of gridiron success and a sweet taste of basketball success under Bruce Pearl. Losing is a bitter pill to swallow for winners. If you get used to losing, you become a loser.

Yet most of these "fans" only show up when we lose and they handle it like children. I remember last year not even half way though the season a few wanted Martin fired and after we lose to Oregon and UF next year some will be calling for Butch to be fired. While the bolded isn't totally wrong people need to realize teams lose games sometimes it's part of sports, deal with it.

It's more like all (or most) of the people disappeared during that run.

Most of us picked up on us doing the same thing as last year with the sec being a lot weaker this year. There was a noticeable absence of the ccm fans during the losing streak that preceded the late run.

Not really. All the main people were still here.

I just wanted TN basketball to be consistent to what BP brought to the table. I really think that TN could have been a basketball powerhouse with BP still as the coach. Now, it's hard to get TN bball where it needs to be after just 2 years. BP put Tennessee on THE NATIONAL STAGE year after year.

Don't get me wrong, I think Cuonzo can be a good coach but I didn't think he was the right coach for TN when hired. To hire someone with only 3 years of HC to a Major school is a HUGE gamble.
I'm sure there are others but the only similarity I can compare this scenario to is when Florida hired Billy Donovan after 2 years at Marshall. It wasn't until his 5th year (3rd w/ FL) that they went to NCAA tourney.

To be fair, I think Donovan learned from a much better coach under Pitino.

Dougie,
Look at this closely:

2008–2009 Missouri State 11–20 3–15 10th
2009–2010 Missouri State 24–12 8–10 7th CIT Champions
2010–2011 Missouri State 26–9 15–3 1st NIT 2nd Round
Missouri State: 61–41 26–28
That is improvement every year!!!

I will say Tennessee improved slightly over last year.

I'm really sorry I took the time to read this crap and send this message.

Is the OP saying Martin and Dooley are teenagers with teleportation abilities who suddenly find themselves in an ancient war between those like them and their sworn annihilators?

Am I the only one here that has high expectations for TN BBall? I'm looking at all the teams CURRENTLY left on the NIT. Alabama, Maryland, Virginia, Southern Miss, etc... were ALL bubble teams for NCAA.
KY lost BARELY. TN gets waxed by Mercer and our team seemed like they didn't care. I remember CCM mentioned he was going to get the "younger guys" involved in the Mercer game before they even played. Did CCM treat Mercer like a scrimmage? I felt like CCM gave up before the rest of the team did.

Personally, I don't think CCM is going to be here much longer, regardless if he gets fired or not. Once another opportunity comes, he'll take it.

I think Cuonzo deserves another year with a full compliment of players (Maymon included) and hopefully with adding a good PG we can improve --and another thing that I'll add is that it's factual that the SEC as a conference sucked. If not for Ole Miss it would have been two bids in the tournament. I don't care what anyone else says about "if we beat Alabama..." I still don't think the committee would have put us in. There was preference towards the Big 10 and the Big East this year. Look at the Big 10 they put in 2 schools with sub-.500 conference records (Illinois and Minnesota). I would say Villanova and Cincinnati weren't exactly world beaters either. It just so happens that we were on the chopping block this year---if Martin could have pulled off a non-conference big road victory or two it might have helped but as great as accomplishment as it seemed a 4 overtime victory against A and M in the end wasn't really a needle mover.
