Culture eats strategy for breakfast

You have held it against JJ for his mistake. The guy has paid his dues. None of our WRs have really done anything.
I dont hold anything against him, nor do i have the ability. My opinion means nothing. I just dont think he should have been allowed back on the team. Now that he is, i hope he does well

Prestigious powerhouse? Bro I’m just tired of being a freaking joke. I’m about at the point where I will start taking participation trophies... no one here is clamoring for that and that is not why we are being made fun of... despite what some try to perpetuate we are not made fun of because of our fanbase ( clearly one of the best and most loyal in the country.) we are made fun of because we are an absolute joke of a team for the resources we have. Quit trying to put it on the fans. It is 100 percent not the fans, it is this criminal administration we have.
Sigh. You havent been reading my posts very well. I literally said our fanbase is the only reason we have hope, yet you're suggestion, I think, was to stop being so supportive so the AD would be forced to act. So it sounded to me as if YOU were blaming the fans. Therefore, I said what I said about wanting Fulmer gone.
And you must live in the middle of Tenn and not talk to other fans or see any of the media. Yes, our fanbase is made fun of for us thinking constantly "next year" and that we are still a big boy program that any coach should win at immediately.

What I’m saying is yes we have a great fanbase, unfortunately that has turned into a double edged sword because the admin knows they don’t have to pay up to put a good product on the field. It’s like if you go to a expensive restaurant and pay 100 dollars for the meal, but instead of high grade food the cook drives down to McDonald’s and picks up some dollar cheeseburgers to serve you. Well if you keep going back for this service over and over why would they change? They are profiting big time off of you and your content to scarf down the dollar cheeseburger and pay them 100 bucks for it. I’m not saying don’t give Pruitt his chance but yes I am saying if there is not big improvement next year it is time to stop financially supporting the program until they give us a fair product on the field. I suppose that will be an unpopular sentiment with some but this fanbase has tried so hard to be patient and supportive and look where it has gotten us.

Drew Richmond is the poster boy.
Drew Richmond was another case of being very overrated by the recruiting services. You could tell by looking at him wearing a t-shirt that he was nowhere near being ready to be an offensive lineman in the NCAA.

I understand and even agree with what you're saying, but where do you suggest this at?
Kiffin: way too early to say "Ive had enough with the administraion"
Dooley: perhaps here, but they did fire him after 3 seasons (right?) So its not like they were keeping him around until we complained.
Butch: definitely the time here, but UT did win 9 games back to back, including beating Florida and Georgia and almost Bama. You seriously going to tell the fanbase to boycott that?
Shiano: most definitely the time, but Volnation decided not to boycott going to the game in protest, causing the AD to get the point , instead opting to go berserk at the news of the hire, resulting in not even mediocre coaches not wanting the job and settling for Pruitt. So why Im not blaming the fans for the Shiano mess, it is the route they chose and the route was "worse now, better in the long run". Changes have been made in the program but fans dont have the right to boycott this hire.
So while I agree with your model, I dont think it works with any of our coaching situations.

I understand what your saying, and I’m not suggesting not giving Pruitt some time, but like I said if your honest with yourself by the later part of next year we will know if we have the guy or not. That is when I would suggest taking action. It will never happen of course, and even if it’s pretty obvious to most by then their will always be your hordes of sunshine pumpers here to tell us were being unreasonable and he needs 5 years etc. etc. etc. then we start this whole Groundhog Day back over. My main complaint isn’t even with the coaches, it’s the admin. Decent people would want to give you a fair product for your money, and this is where patience would pay off it that were the case, however it’s pretty clear after 10 years that they are content just ripping the average Tennessee fan off as long as they are raking in the money. So you can be as patient as you like but they have shown no moral fortitude or respect for their consumers so until the consumers actions demand better it will never get better.

You realize UNLV ran for over 400 vs them last week?
Would a good rushing team UGA need 600 or 700?

There comes a point where it doesnt matter that much. UT got to 345 at 7 yards a carry with an underwhelming game from the OL.
If UT struggled to run the football this would be a point.

Agreed, but what is the expectation next year to know hes the guy? I fear the expectations around here can be too high for the situations. Pruitt walked into a highly unusual straight up mess and is brand new.

Different for everyone I suppose, me I never put a number on it, I simply watch and decide for myself if I think there is improvement or not. For me I just want teams to know they were in a slobber knocker after they play us... I haven’t seen that in sometime and quite frankly was hoping to have already seen that. But alas I’ll give him until late next season to show me something
