Culinary, Arts, Thread.

Jimmy John is good here in Nashville. It is very popular downtown because of the bicycle delivery riders who bring their subs to your office.

I was trying to think of any mom and pop sub places I still go to. Most are gone but my better half loves the veggie sub from Pizza Perfect but only if certain cooks make it. If she doesn’t see her regular people, she’ll walk.

Publix can make a good sub. My favorite from them was the philly sub that they would cook on the griddle. Then they quit offering the griddle service and that’s the only thing I want from them so they can keep their subs for now.

I did try a Penn Station not long ago. I got a cheesesteak with their fresh cut fries. It tasted good but I thought I was gonna heave afterwards. I prolly just wasn’t ready for all that grease.
I haven't eaten at a Penn Station since I found a used band aid in my sub. That was probably 10 years ago. They used to be one of my favs.

Best somewhat chain sandwich place I’ve ever found.

@GordonC did you ever go to Poor Richards back in the day? The one next to ETSU was better than the “uptown” imo, but both were fantastic.
I lived in PRs for about six years. On weekend nights, moved on down to Richard As or the Italian Pizza Pub.
Those were pretty much my 20s. HAHAHAHA
Pitchers of Miller Lite for less than three bucks was a big selling point at PRs. On big spending nights, we'd go Mich Light for 3.25.
Edit: There was one in Gray for a while.

I took European Intellectual History I and II in grad school, and a buddy and I would tell the prof if we weren't in class we were at PRs drinking beer. That was when you only discussed things in class and had two big papers to complete for the final grade. Each paper was 50 percent. There were 8-10 people in the class. The first time we did that was in the Ren and Ref part (Part I), maybe the second meeting, and he came to class, we weren't there, and he decided to move the class to PRs for the rest of the semester. A student complained, and we actually had to meet in the classroom for Part II.
RIP Professor R. M. Day and RIP my buddy L. Collins
