If that comes to fruition, it will be ironic that Fulamanure's career will end in the same building where the downward spiral began in 2001.

Surely we can dispatch a Tom O'Brien-less Boston College. Do you think it would even matter? Would we see interim head coach Chavis in that game? I feel like a win in the Chik-Fil-A bowl probably means 9 or 10 wins for the year, thus saving Fulmer's job. It will also mean that we won nothing, yet again.

I still have nightmares of getting humiliated by Maryland in '02.

A Fast Food Chicken Joint Bowl bid will mean we went 8-4 in the regular season. I think the postseason result will be irrelevant at that point.

We went 10-2 the last time we were there. If we go 9-3 or 8-4, to get there, we could still finish with 9 or 10 wins. The Fulmerites would be screaming that Fulmer had brought the Vols back to glory. I don't think that record is poor enough to get him fired.

You're probably right. No way Fulmer gets fired with a 10 win season, no matter how he got it. 9 wins would get people talking, and I think 8 wins would do it.

the peach bowl is a not an unlikely outcome for us this year...and just like you guys said, if fulmer gets 9 or 10 wins by the end of the season, he's staying. but how many more seasons will he last in the same situation (9 wins, jan 1 non-bcs bowl game)? Im starting to think if he does this every year, he'll be at tenn for a while

Virginia Tech has a good shot. The ACC is still fairly weak. If they get by LSU on the road, they have a very good chance. Although, USC would probably smack VT in the NC Game.

Correct on all counts. I don't see them getting past LSU. Also, I think FSU, Miami, and NC State will be much improved. I'd say they'll probably drop one to either the Noles or Canes. Also, they'll have to play in the ACC Championship. Games against William & Mary, East Carolina, and Ohio are going to hurt their strength of schedule, even with LSU on there.

i would bet a lot of money that their Cal, VT, UF, and wisconsin predictions are wrong

Cal in the Rose Bowl isn't that much of a longshot. If USC makes it to the National Championship, I think the 2nd place Pac-10 team will go to the Rose Bowl.

wisconsin won't win the big-10. the big-10 will be much better this year than last. their record last year was due primarily to a ridiculously easy schedule.

After the LSU trip, VT fade out of the picture.

I am guessing you think LSU will beat VT? I agree.

But, even if LSU beats VT, they will be back in it later on unless someone upsets them during the year, which could happen.

What will happen if we open the season 1-3? Will Fulmer be replaced mid-season?
VTech is not going to be the powerhouse everyone thinks IMO. All of the Alumni are worried around here because they don't have a lot of confidence in their QB. LSU will destroy them and I agree that VT will slowly fade after that.

No, they won't. USC, the winner of the Louisville-West Virginia game, and the winner of the OU-Texas game are all going undefeated.
