Did they edit the article already? It doesn't say he's committed at any place in the article; it does say that Tennessee is closing in on locking up a commit with Ament (what does this mean? Everyone is always closing in on a commit with everyone they are actively recruiting).

And the 24/7 100% Crystal Ball is still just Travis Branham from Thursday (1 out of 1 is 100%), which was great news on Thursday.

I wouldn't expect Fansided guy to have the industry/school connections to break a major commitment. He's probably just reading like the rest of us. I didn't see the original version (if edited), but putting out that he committed and changing it in an hour to locking in on the commitment would be crazy work.

This part: “… the Vols and CRB have landed possibly the best prospect since Barnes took the job in Knoxville..And maybe the Vols' best recruit ever to commit to the Vols.”

Grunfeld was also possibly the best prospect to ever commit at that time. But recruiting rankings 50+ years ago were night and day versus now.

The only thing PF about Nate Ament is height. He's a versatile wing, more traditionally a SF. Seeing how loaded wè are àt the 4 and 5, and how desperate we are for a starting caliber 3, we can̈ easily assume Ament is a 3 for us

This is not an attack, but if you post a thread title saying a player committed when he didn’t, you have to expect some backlash and accusations of being a troll. On a message board where no one sees faces or interacts in person, it’s to be expected. Fans don’t like it when they feel like their hopes are being toyed with.

My enthusiasm for the Vols caused me to make a similar mistake some years back… I was excited to bring some good news and didn’t take enough time to fact check it. It was a good reminder that I have to be really careful these days before posting something. At that point, the only thing to do is admit the mistake and move on. Reasonable posters will eventually forgive and forget, as long as you don’t make a habit doing the same thing.

I know the kid that wrote the article. He made a honest mistake. But he is 1000% pure Vol. He bleeds orange! He did make us all excited over the article. The site is real and he has sources just jumped the gun.

If you notice, I didn’t call you a troll. Not sure why you took it that way… I was actually defending you and acknowledging that you didn’t do anything on purpose. For someone who has been posting for 15 years, you didn’t seem to understand why anyone would be angry with your thread title. If I came across as condescending, my bad. That was not my intention.

That's why I said "thanks for the enlightenment" and the troll remarks addressed you warning me about accusations of being a troll by others..Glad to have interactions with logical posters but believe me, this place is persona non grata for most old school posters like me now..I was trying to give good news about an impressive recruit ( who MY sources say is firmly a Vol) that my broadcasting cronies said has the potential to be a great Vol..I KNEW it would be a mistake to EVER post positive news in this forum..bTo is the only one smart enough to EVER do that..But I will now revert to being just another dumb poster who merely lurks..No offense intended towards you, just realization that this board is reserved for folks other than me.....
