thats just my thoughts..
i really haven't seen any worse, or heard of any this year..

the talent is just too good at UT to be having such a bad QB problem like this.. i mean, we have one of, or maybe the biggest fan base in the nation, and were given a QB like this..
i bet there's gotta be some walk on's that could do what he's doing.. I've seen it at other schools where a walk on would torch what Crompton is doing..

why is it so hard on him to just make one throw..
we had like 7 3 and outs in a row, and they were pretty much all his fault.. we would be a 3rd and 2,3,4 or 5. and he would make a horrible throw to a wide open WR.. or throw it out of bounds which pissed off the announcer even..

what are yall's thoughts...

btw, if i was Josh Nunes, i would be super happy to go to UT next year.. He should be thinking of early PT, and starting as a true freshman like Eric Ainge did :)

I preached and I preached to all of my friends in the offseason stating I was not sold on Crompton, and low and behold this turd has been seriously stinking up the joint.Coleman or Stevens needs to get their shot next weekend.

I should have pointed out that a couple of these guys aren't starters.

Like you folks, I endured the game on CBS yesterday too. So that you understand my perspective before reading the following, I only played the game for 9 years. I only coached for about 6. I have been a fan for sport for about 54 years starting in the 5th grade.
Now that you know where I am coming from and the limitations of my football judgement, I believe Crompton is the worst quarterback I have ever seen at any level above Pop Warner in my almost 65 years on this earth. The man is a loose cannon with a football. He can't pass, he is too slow to run, he can't put the ball in the running- backs pocket. Apparently he is unable read defenses or a find a open secondary receiver. I suppose his one redeeming feature is that he can remember the snap count.
If Crompton is the best we have, we are in very serious trouble, now that Nunes has deselected us in favor of Stanford. I can't believe either of the quarterbacks we have in waiting are so bad they can't replace Crompton. What is wrong with either of them. It must be that they CAN NOT remember the snap count.

I definitely agree. There has to be another QB on the team that is better than Crompton. Carson Newman probably has a better QB than Crompton. He can't find his receivers, can't pass with any accuracy, and takes too long to throw the ball. Between Crompton and Foster, they can't execute a hand off without fumbling in critical situations. We had the UCLA game under control until Foster fumbled the hand off in the 3rd Quarter and it turned the tide and cost us the game. Saturday's Crompton/Foster handoff fumble cost us the Auburn game. Crompton was lost the entire game. Couldn't find his receivers, couldn't pass with anything that resembled accuracy, he needs to go. Watching Kentucky play after the game, their QB can throw the ball and beat the receivers who can't catch to death with it. Crompton can't put th ball withing 10 yards of his receivers making catches an impossibility. Crompton should be benched immediately. I can't believe that Foster is still playing given that he got in Fulmer's face last week and can't hold onto the ball when we have other rb's that can hold onto the ball and can run as well.

I'm not a big basher and I truly love pulling for the Vols, but at some point you have to realize that Crompton just isn't getting it done. Why not take a chance here and start playing BJ or Nick Stephens. We out played Auburn and came up short and it all fell on not being able to pass the ball. Come on Phil....grow some and do something different!!

Crompton is bad............real, real bad.

The coaches worry about his confidence if we bench him. Well, what about Stephens and Coleman? They must be thinking "Man, do I suck that bad that they won't put me in ahead of this guy?"

Like I said on another thread....leaders and heroes are born out of chances......just give them a shot....

Sure we'll get someone else in there now that the season is over. I'am going to be mad as ''''''''''''''' when whoever it is makes crompton look like he should have been riding pine from day one.

I have to agree JC is just not getting it done so give someone else a shot.

If PF isn't going to play Stephens or Coleman, then run the G-Gun 20 plays or so and let him throw it. Can't be any worse

Crompton is definitely down there with the bottom feeders...my old college roomate used to play flag football against him and talked about how he picked him off a few times...I always found that to be funny

I say open up a full QB competition with all 3...but don't just limit it to practice....games included...get Stephens and Coleman in there...and see what they can do...it might be the spark we need

Agreed. We should have started the QB rotation in the 4th quarter. All we needed was a fg for cryin' out loud! A first down or two would have set it up!
