If he throws a bad pass are you going to boo?
Are others going to boo?

If he looks sharp are we going to chant his name?

Should we, as VolNation faithful, find it in ourselves to give him a fresh start? Should we tell others to lay off of him if he makes some bad passes?

I'm just trying to gauge what might happen tomorrow. I don't think he's going to look like Tom Brady but I just don't want to jump on the kid's back on his first bad pass. I certainly don't want to hear boos during the Orange and White game.

Maybe it's just me, but they're college kids...you should never boo. They aren't getting paid to entertain, except of course if we're talking about Oklahoma or Bama.:)

I won't boo anybody no matter what. If he makes a few good plays, I'll cheer, but not get my hopes up too high. Nothing will convince me he'll play well in the games until he does it. He could fly like Superman to the endzone and I still won't be convinced until I see it in September.

I'm not saying that I'm going to boo by the way. I just think that some people are going to still have the boo-bug from last year. People booing Fulmer didn't offend or bother me that much, but if I hear fans booing kids then I'll be pretty angry. I just know that there's going to be some fans that think they know everything cursing the players. I just hope we don't hear the boos.

On top of the respect aspect, I just don't want to kill anyone's confidence or put a barrier between the fan base and the players. If you recall, last year there were some players saying "so what about the fans?" and I don't want that to happen early this year either.

We'll have to wait and see. It sucks that I'm already expecting the worst out of this and making a preemptive "I wonder how bad the boos will be" thread because of past performances. I'm definitely hoping for the best.

I don't think you could rightfully boo any player in a Spring game, now is the time to make mistakes if you are going to make them...As far as booing Crompton goes though I don't really think anyone should boo him, I mean I look at it like this, he is going to make mistakes he is only human and as bad as last year went for him I think if its more important to let him know when he makes a good play or does something good rather than let him know when he does something wrong, that's the coach's job and I feel sure Coach Kiffin will let him know...I would say that kids confidence is so shaky now after last year he would take any kind of cheers he can get so I hope he does great tomorrow and that will be a huge confidence booster

If there is ANY booing, that is pathetic. It's a scrimmage. Some players are going to be out of their element, and Kiffin & Co are trying to figure out which players they want in each unit. Be pissed off at home...don't bring it to Neyland tomorrow.

If Crompton gets booed what kind of a message will that send to the potential recruits that will be at the game tomorrow? It could possibly cause a few to look elsewhere or drop us completely. i.e. Nunes

I for one believe Crompton gets "coached up" and will have a good senior year. As far as booing goes, yea I did it last year, but it was directed at the staff. Almost every aspect of last years team (excluding D) flat out sucked. NOT JUST QB!! When you have that many aspects of a team failing to execute, that falls on the staff. Like it or not Crompton bleeds orange, and I would love to see him prove to the nation just how mediocre last years staff was in preparing him.

And by the way, my territory includes WY, and there is no way I will ever forgive last years staff for that pathetic display. We were five times more talented than that team and I’m ready for payback. Imagine the Vols BB team beating the Lakers. That would never happen, and if it did, heads would roll, and hell would be frozen.

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!

I read that some fans booed Crompton at the first scrimmage open to the public a few weeks ago. I bet it'll happen again tomorrow.

If Crompton passes it over or to the ground in front of his receiver more than twice he is helpless.

Make sure people around are not booing... If so request them to stop it...

It might create a wrong impression about our fanbase..
ad might become a factor in the recruits decision on commiting

If at any point you find yourself ever booing at a scrimmage or during a halftime ceremony, punch yourself in the face.

I find it mind boggling how YOU think players can differentiate (sp) BOOS !!! Your an idiot. There you admitted something and so did I. The decline on the field does not and should not allow for a decline in the self respect of the "fan" base- I hope you punch yourself into a drunken stooper in the Krystal's drive thru. Why would you ever Boo the Home Team ?????

Cause they're pathetic fair weather fans that probably haven't followed college football long enough to earn the right to criticize. But that doesn't stop them. I can understand a quick boo of frustration when you sit and watch the coaches call a run up the middle from the 15 yard line when you are sitting there watching them stack the line, but the bull that went on last year with hordes of fans booing JC for his failures was sickening. He was just a kid and probably wouldn't have unravelled so much if he didn't have the stress of knowing thousands of people hated him. I got pissed watching him throw dead ducks as much as anyone else but that's obviously not what he suited up to do.

He's going to be up against actual competition unlike last year's game. Despite Berry not being there, our first team D can rival almost anyone in the SEC in the nation. If he does well, i think it will be safe to assume he can turn things around this season.

Let's hope he has the turn around with the new staff that Erik Ainge did with Coach Cut. But if the offensive line doesn't block anyone, it won't matter who is back there.

Think of it this way. Since its a scrimmage you can cheer the defense instead of booing the offense.
