Im sorry but with all this hubub about Tebow and Stafford being world class freshmen QBs its good to see Crompton come in the game and shine. He, in my very humble opinion is 2x the qb they are right now. What say ye VOLNATION? :dance2:

I liked what I saw. Way more composed than Stafford and way more complete than Tebow.

I think he is on par with them, definitely....but he should be.....he's been around for a year and a half. You should expect nothing less out of someone who has been around for two springs and falls.

He's going to be big time when it's his turn.

I kept seeing flashes of some of those gutsy Shuler performance of the early 90's. He's really fun to watch.

I like him, because he just stepped up and about took down the number one rated defense in the country. We did lose and I do realize that, but man he showed alot of potential out there against some big odds that were clearly against him. Now I am not saying anything negative about Ainge he has done a great turn around from last year and I do not want another controversy but he had better come out swinging in the spring

He was ready to play and I bet the LSU DB wishes neither one of those Crompton guys had played.

Not that anyone would know about a controversy, but Crompton is clearly a very good QB. More than likely Ainge will get it, because he has really stepped up and this team would not be where it is without him or Meachem. I am just saying it could be very competive that's all

It makes life easier when you have Meachem to throw to.

True, but neither of Meachams TD's were strictly due to his athletic ability. Both TD passes were well placed (though one was, at best, ill-advised) and on time.

Give him a little credit, otherwise let Meacham try to throw it to himself. I guarantee Meacham would agree.

but even meachem look rough in the first quarter. Ainge's first four passes were ON THE MARK but were not caught. No reason that drive should not have ended with 6 points. UN-excusable!!

I give Crompton credit for the placement of the 1st pass, perfect. But, both decisions were questionable with double coverage. The second TD was underthrown because Meach had the safety beat and should have caught it in the end zone. Instead he had to slow down to catch it. And, yes the athletic ability got him that 2nd TD.

I wasn't taking anything at all away from Crompton. That first TD pass to Meachem was pretty. I was just making a comment, half joking, that having one of the top WR in the country makes life easier on the QB, be it Crompton or Ainge.

I think we should use him some next year ala Leak/Tebow. As long as Ainge won't be a puss about it like Leak is.

Then again, we saw what happened to Erik when he didn't have the full confidence of the staff.

We lost. That's what I say.

We did lose, that's true. But Crompton only had three quarters to compete with LSU's four. I know they didn't actually score until the second quarter, but that was only by a matter of seconds.

I was very impressed with him, as a red-shirt freshman getting his first playing time against one of the top defenses in the nation. It's not fair to compare a red-shirt freshman against true freshmen, but I am more than happy we have Crompton and Georgia & Florida can keep Stafford & Tebow.

Crompton should be ahead of Tebow and Stafford, considering he's been at UT for a year and a half, and those 2 kids have been at their schools for 3/4ths of a season.
