If Asheville finishes in the top 2 in the Big South then we should never schedule another opponent from that conference, ever.

They can't possibly be as good, relative to their conference rivals, as they were expected to be.

I had some friends who graduated from UNCA and they said the only team that takes basketball very seriously in that conference is Winthrop, who won the conference almost every year when Greg Marshall was the coach there. Eddie Biedenbach, who has been the coach there forever, took them to the NCAA's back in '03 but other than that, hasn't done a whole lot. They're building a new arena on campus and upgrading some of the facilities, but until they really care about basketball, and athletics in general, they'll never be anything more than average, maybe make a run at the NCAAs every 5 years or so.
