@WojYahooNBA: Correction: The proposed deal to the Lakers is Chris Paul for Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom, source says.

@CBSSports BREAKING: Chris Paul to the Lakers is "done," league executive briefed on the deal tells @CBSSports. (via @KBergCBS)

Ok, so two of their best players, one starter and the six man/starter, for paul. Hornets racked up!

That's not even the scariest part. They were able to keep Bynum to use him as trade bait for Dwight Howard.

Why is that scary? Magic aren't gonna take Bynum for Howard straight up lol. Who they have left to throw in that the magic would have interest in? Kobe? Nope. Fisher? Nope. Artest? Nope. Shannon brown? Maybe. Please tell me why this is scary, they would have traded their only two desirable pieces to get cp3.

Magic (beggars) can't be choosers. Howard is leaving no matter what, so they need to take what they can get. Not a lot of teams would be willing to trade much for him since he's a FA after this season.

I'd love to see CP3 on the same team with Dwight Howard. (anywhere other than Boston)

I wish NY would trade Melo for CP3 and go after Howard. Or just kill Jim Dolan.

Exactly. They'll take on Bynum, some other crap... and ship Dwight and Hedo's contract to the Lakers.

CP3 is also the perfect guy to have when implementing a brand new offense. He'll be the perfect guy for Howard. He makes things easy for Kobe, and could make Hedo relevant again.

Wow.

Houston came out the worst in this trade, if I read it right.

Martin, Scola, Dragic, and 1st round pick for Pau Gasol? Are you kidding me? He's not a franchise player.

Wow I didn't realize they traded Martin away in that deal, too. Goodness.

Heat/Lakers matchups could be must see tv

I think they will. Don't think they would've so easily parted ways with Pau if that wasn't pretttttttttty much lined up.

Cannot wait for the Heat/Lakers games.

Emeka Okafor may be heading to Los Angeles as well. Still trying to figure out all of the details.

That's just sickening. I think to make the trade even monetarily, they practically HAVE to send Okafor to LA

....You would think they paid attention when he was here.

He'll go to the Nets before the Lakers. The Nets are offering Lopez, and 2 Top 5 picks as well as taking Hedo's horrid contract.

5-1 he ends up in Brooklyn

There's no way they can let the Lakers get 2 of the top 10 or so players in the league
