Cowherd had a segment on Kiffin leaving Tennessee that was on Sportcenter last night. He said he didn't blame him for leaving because the death threats he received after he left was validation that he made the right choice. He then went on to discuss how Southern rural fans have no life and that college football is everything to them and that is a negative to a taking a job in the SEC.

He then played a recording of a "redneck" from TN calling trying to leave a death threat on Kiffin's voicemail which was freaking hilarious.

I am not really upset by his comments because he is really telling the truth. Kiffin left because he is going to be around a program that he understands better and that he is better suited for. It is just sad our fans have to be so stupid to do something like cause so much negative attention to our fanbase and State.

stopped listening to this guy a LONG time ago. Does everybody who works for espn really need their own radio show? Anyway, Cowturd is egotistical, elitist jerk ,bashes the south constantly regardless. I know a lot of people bring it on themselves, but when you call alabama people "tornado bait" a day after a bunch of schoolkids were killed by a tornado then you're just a POS. k I'm done.

When it is all said and done, I think that things really worked out for the best. I have been very very impressed with the maturity of Derek Dooley. We will see if X can really coach when daddy X retires. The only National Championship I see those three jokers winning is the National Signing Day Championship, which is all that they seem concerned about. I mean during that interview on Sportscenter, all X could talk about is signing top classes.

First, Colin Cowherd sniffs butt on all things USC. He has openly admitted on television that he is a USC homer, so he is of course going to bash anyone bashing his guys.

That being said, I agree with his premise. It was sad and disappointing to see how the bad UT fans have scarred this university by their misguided actions. The vast majority of fans responded with justified disappointment and anger but kept it limited to non-death threats and non burning in effigy. I was upset not so much that he left, but how he left and the mess he could have potentially left us in. Granted, I had my orange colored glasses on when he was out doing what he was doing with secondary violations hoping it was truly part of a "master plan" to rebuild UT football. We are better off, he is better off so it's time for both us and him to move on, only USC benefits from this dragging out. The more Lane and his cronies get on TV the better it is for them and not us. Let's move on as a fanbase.

To say the reaction to Kiffin leaving was unique to Tennessee or the SEC, is just ignorant.

The fact that Cowherd broke the story of Kiffin's leaving and had one of the first interviews with him, shows where he stands.

Please explain again, how it's not possible that Kiffin would have someone to leave such a message in order to improve his own bottom feeding position? :whistling: Personally, as a Vol fan, I'm glad to not be directly associated with him any longer!

So did anyone hear it?

I mean you had to laugh at the guy calling in the death threat...it was a riot.

no, I didn't hear it. I'm sure it was, and it's a shame people care that much about college football. Also, burning mattresses didn't exactly help the image any. Talk about stupid, wow.

Yes, because that wouldn't happen at a place like Ohio State or Michigan. Every fan base has their morons. Not realizing this further confirms that this moron shouldn't be on the air.

This post highlights an immutable lesson about sports: winning solves everthing. Blasted by a radio personality? Win, and they'll be tripping over themselves for interviews. Fan base acting poorly? Win, and they don't call in death threats. Coach left in the middle of the night like a bad college hook-up? Coach Dooley wins and nobody cares.

The only show on espn radio I can listen to is mike and mike. Jim Rome is awful, Dan patrick is worse, scott van dyke or whatever his name is tolerable sometimes.

Yeah... Cowherd is totally right..... The Bama fans didn't react whatsoever when Francione left for A&M..... The folks in Baltimore said a collective "Meh...." when the Colts left for Indy..... Brooklyn was totally benign when the Dodgers checked out. Nobody but Tennessee fans ever get upset when we get treated like two bit whores.

This is stupid. Kiffin seems to think that we were mad because he left. I don't know about yall but i was more upset at the fact that we picked him up and gave him an oppurtunity at a great job and he did not appreciate it. I also was mad because he did not have a formal press conference and he has continued to act like the UT job was a horrible experience when actually the fans were behind him 100%. IMO we were also mad the he and O tried to steal our recruits and then lied about it. That is just my take.

Once a loser, always a loser. Cow"turd" definetly will drive his opinion as the only one that counts on any subject. I find it hard to beleive he moved from radio to television with ESPN. I could care less what he says I just hate that he has a forum that can touch so many and it leaves us defenseless.

Yea I also remember Cowherd swearing to all his listeners that he was so positive that the Patriots were going to win the superbowl against the Giants that if the Pats lost he would quit his job. So much for that. He is completely full of crap 100% of the time.
