"Tennessee's a mess. That coach has about two years. They'll go down the tubes."

I think this is the common perception outside of Tennessee. Now I'm going to sit back and read all the replies declaring Colin Cowherd an idiot.

part of his silliness is steeped in our response to Kiffin. His USC homerism is pathetic and hideous.

Cow**** is an idiot for reasons other than this.

If you ever go to Bristol, CT make sure you keep your wives/girlfriends away from chain restaurants. I hear he likes to prowl there.

It is not just his USC homerism, it is in every sport. He always picks the team that has won this decade. Lakers, USC, Patriots, Yankees and Red Sox. He doesn't believe in underdogs at all and it shows just how little he knows about sports.

I honestly love Cowherd's show and think he is a really funny host. But he is really just playing the positive Kiffin angle right now trying to help out his buddy. If we fall apart and go 8-16 over the next 2 years and Kiffin can go 18-6 then it will make him look much better and may save his job.

Herd is a USC guy all the way, and he himself will admit that.

I remember at the beginning of the year when he said that Kiffin has a tougher job going into USC than Dooley does at TN.

Tennesee is a mess right now. I don't know how one could argue that part of his statement.

The "down the tubes" is a different deal

The only thing is that when Dooley is sucessful- Colin will have to eat his words and he does that alot- Unlike some others he will admit when he was wrong!

almost any common football fan realizes how bad our program is right now. tennessee fans just like when fulmer was coach are optomistic and refuse to see the truth. unless dooley is the greatest judge of talent ever on the field, we are doomed. with his experience at LT i have to agree with the idiot. what tennessee really needs to do is hire a full time president so they can get rid of hamilton.

I like Cowherd but he likes to hear himself talk. He also predicted that probation would no effect on USC, Auburn will win 10 games and the NC game will be Bama vs TCU.

Herbstreit called him out last year. Cowherd did a live show from Atl on Friday but didn't bother to go to the game in Athens on Saturday. He said he never goes to college football games. Herbie asked him how he could talk college football and not go to the game. His reply was he didn't like going to sporting events, he'd rather watch them on tv.

^^ this. I remember a day that I tuned in to hear him going on about how he and Kiffin text each other often. Remember how stoked he was about Tennessee last year? It's all about who he likes and what team they're with at that particular moment.

We all know how moronic Cowherd can be. I remember back in January when the Kiffin debacle came down that Cowherd called Tennessee fans myopic. I hate to say that if all Tennessee fans did was burn a few mattresses and shout a few obscenities towards Benedict Kiffin, then I cant understand his reasoning whatsoever. Had this sort of thing happened in Los Angeles, there would be full scale riots. We know over the years that ESPN has been biased against Tennessee. I dont think we should even pay attention to what they have to say. Honestly, I think it will all work itself out. Vols are not even supposed to do anything this year according to several publications. Everytime I have read that over the years, the Vols find a way to prove everybody wrong. Case in point, 89, 98 and 2006. I am not saying the Vols will be world beaters, however I think that they may surprise a few naysayers out there....starting with the University of Oregon.....From what I am hearing, Dooley and Wilcox are the kind of coaches that do not make alot of mistakes and play to their strengths. We shall see come Sept 11th.....

Hell with Cowherd...He should have been Canx'd along time ago. The truth is that when Dan Patrick left ESPN, they lost all their talents having to fill the airwaves with mediocrity.....
