Butch is innocent until proven guilty and right now no one has shown any evidence of wrong doing by Butch. It's just a rumor and a lot of speculation.

There's where you are misunderstanding.
There is another possibility.
"innocent until proven guilty" could only apply to people they believe help us win. See the Von Pearson and AJ threads.
It's currently believed that fb will do better without Jones
so it's "you know he did it".
Just a possibility. If you believe people could have a double standard based on if they want it to be true or not. :dunno:

It does seem like I read "innocent until..." often in those threads so it does seem a little suspicious. :wink2:

It came out into the media right after the bowl win against Iowa and between the Vic Wharton transfer to Cal.

More info: It came into the media spotlight around December 17 2014. Word got back high school coaches in East Tennessee about Butch's "abrasive teaching/motivational methods."

Granted, PunchGate has taken on a life of its own. But remember, this really started when people questioned Butch and the staff's coaching ability after the Arky loss. The Punch was a seed that landed on the fertile ground of legitimate questions about how Butch develops (or doesn't develop) his players. I doubt this story would have gained the traction it has, but for the pre-existing questions about Butch's abilities as coach.

So Crowder is loafing and has a sense of entitlement because he's a sr. Jones grabs him by the jersey and basically tells him to stop being an effin **ssy and do his job. Crowder barks back, then Jones grabs his by the facemask and tells him for being a sr he sets a very poor example for his team mates and needs to grow a sack. A few other things were said as well but no need to get into that. But some how this leads to Jones punched Crowder and a video supports said claim?
lol imo half of the upperclassman olinemen should be thankful they're playing because they're being out worked by the younger guys. Wish Tennessee had about 4 more Jack Jone's, that kid is nasty nasty nasty.

Regardless if this is true or not this football program is royally screwed. First if Butch actually did this then he needs to be punished, however if he didn't I would leave after this season. You can be upset that he let a few games slip through I get that but now his reputation is at stake.

As a man the one thing he has to go on is his rep and to have it "Somewhat" tarnished because of what could be made up rumors is so bad. I don't care what you say but you better hope this doesn't hurt this program because I don't see any good coach and that's of any sport to come to Knoxville. You "NegaVols" are the WORST and don't be surprised when we lose another coach.
