Neyland’s 112 shutouts was too easy......

The ‘54 Vols struggled, but had a powerful back named Tom Tracy. In the 20-14 victory vs Chattanooga, Tracy had 10 carries for 112 yards, including a 74 yard touchdown. Tracy would make ALL-SEC for the 4-6 Vols. Before the ‘55 season, Tracy had an altercation with new coach Bowden Wyatt, and left the team. Tracy would play in the CFL and then was an All-Pro for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The streak ended on September 24, 2016 with a 38-28 victory over Florida. Josh Dobbs tossed 4 TDs and Jauan Jennings caught 3 passes for 111 yards, including a 67 yrd TD in the 21 point comeback. It was the first win over UF in eleven years.

During his career (‘71-‘73) at Tennessee, Eddie Brown was a stalwart as a safety and punt returner. He helped lead the Vols to a 27-7-2 record and was an All-American in 1973. He finished his career with 10 interceptions for 244 return yards.

Craig Faulkner was a fan favorite the day he arrived from eastern Kentucky. Two 100 yard games vs Vanderbilt and a 3rd and 17 first down on a reverse during the “Miracle at South Bend,” are just a couple of moments that we remember. During his career in Knoxville, Faulkner caught 110 passes for 1,705 yards and 9 TDs.

In 1975, trailing 14-17 in the fourth quarter, the Vols faced 3rd and long on three occasions. Each time, Larry Seivers came through with electric first down receptions. On first down from the 37, Randy Wallace hit Seivers for a touchdown, giving the Vols a 21-17 victory over Auburn. Seivers caught 6 passes for 109 yards and 2 TDs, and was named AP and UPI Southeast Back of the Week. Seivers was named All-American in 1975.

In the middle of the SEC schedule, Oklahoma State visited Knoxville in 1995. Manning tossed two TDs and Jay Graham had 22 carries for 108 yrds. Graham’s two touchdowns helped the Vols to a 31-0 victory over the Cowboys.

UT was looking for their first SEC win in 2010 when Ole Miss came to Knoxville. Tyler Bray threw 3 TDs and Tauren Poole ran for 107 yrds in the Vols 52-14 victory. Poole only had 12 carries and scored 2 TDs.


Also. I looked everywhere for some info, but no luck. In the 1905 loss to Sewanee, JH Caldwell returned a fumble 107 yards, which still stands as the longest fumble return in UT history.
