I didn't hear it live, and I'm not sure it's as funny as I think it is, but this made me laugh. From Vol Calls last night.
Pruitt: “Bob, you’re grinning. Did you play quarterback in high school? I thought you were a fullback.”
Bob Kesling: “I was a slugger fullback. I wanted to know if you were a dual-threat quarterback when you played.”
Pruitt: “Absolutely, have you not seen me run through the T?”
Bob Kesling: “I have seen you sprint through the T a few times, you’ve got that burst when you come out. I don’t know if you could make it to the other end, but you’ve got that burst to the 50-yard line. What were your strengths as a quarterback?”
Pruitt: “I was a leader. I was a leader and made sure the guys around me played good, because I didn’t have a whole lot of talent.”
Bob Kesling: “Could you zip the ‘tater? Could you throw that bad boy?”
Pruitt: “You know what, most of the time when it was third-and-7-plus, we were running the quarterback draw. Or we might have punted on third down. Quick kick.”
