Could you guys ever see Fulmer getting an offer to replace Les Miles at LSU

no.... not going to happen....

And honestly even though Les can't coach worth a crap. he is a great recruiter, and has the luck of 10 horse shoes dipped in 10k gold with 20 4 leaf clovers glued on. I would kill for that kind of luck right now.

I don't think that's very likely. LSU fans would never stand for another coach who left his previous school on bad terms. They would rather have a young guy like Muschamp or Smart who has a bright future. Fulmer doesn't have enough "heat" to be considered for this job.

No way in hell! LSU would go for someone younger with more potential. Fulmer is all washed up.

I agree it's not going to happen. If it did, my guess is he would have a couple of good seasons (8-10 win type seasons) but he wouldn't be able to maintain the talent level in recruiting and the program would drop off.

Hell, I'm all for it. He could maybe get Sanders back and have a reunion with 3rd and Chavis for about 5 yrs. If we were lucky, LSU wouldnt be competitive again until 2020 at the earliest.

No, but I DO see Fulmer at Minnesota. Would be a great hire for them and a chance for Fulmer to have a fresh start in a program that isn't expecting Big 10 championships any time soon.

I've said before and I'll say it again, I love joke threads! At least I hope it's a joke. Does the OP really believe this is even a remote possibility? Even Lloyd Christmas thinks the OP's question is a little silly.

Why would you wish that on the Gophers? What have they done to you? Although I could relish the thoughts of Phil freezing his bejeebers off there, I wouldn't wish that on them. It would be nice to get him away from this program though. I wouldn't recommend Fulmer to a div 3 program.

Fulmer would actually be a steal for LSU. He would probably better their recruiting (already good) immediately.

I will say it might be a replay of the 1990s though with Saban in the Spurrier role. Having said that, the talent gap would always be consistently closer - with an actual potential to out-recruit Saban, so it might not be a full reprisal. You could actually see LSU dominating the conference for five years or so until Phil retired.

I actually find that a scary scenario for UT actually. Plus, I don't want to see it personally. I definitely don't want Phil coaching another SEC team, and certainly not one where he could out-recruit TN without leaving the state.

If true.

This should happen in a few weeks. There will be a reason why it doesn't, and it has to do with my first comment.

I'm just going to leave this link here in case you ever feel the need to come to terms with your problem.

If Miles gets canned, he'll leave behind a team with a lot of talent. They'll be able to get a young guy on the rise. Phil won't get contacted.

I could see Fulmer getting a call. No way Chavis doesn't lobby for him.

I don't think they hire him, but he very well could be a candidate.

I wonder if Phil has learned enough to not say he's available like he did for the Clemson job.

I can't believe someone would even consider this. Didn't he himself mention "losing the fire". And that was at his own school that he was supposed to live and die for. Yea, sounds like just the guy you want.

Your attitude sucks, especially when talking about someone who has given so much to the University. Maybe it's a product of your age, I'm not sure. I agree Fulmer had short comings as a coach, but you should show more respect to someone who won a NC for this school.

Here's several reasons why you bring Fulmer in if you are in Minnesota:

1.) He's loyal.
2.) Minnesota fans might be content with 8-11 win seasons, even with a few bad years sprinkled in here and there. While UT fans may not be content "just getting to" our conference championship game, I bet Minnesota fans wouldn't complain about being in their soon-to-be conference championship game 5 x's in the next 11 years. Maybe they even win one or two of them.
3.) He brings instant credibility and name recognition to the program.
4.) He has recruiting contacts all over the country and especially throughout the south.
5.) He would form a great tandem with Tubby.
6.) He would be jumping into a program that's rock bottom, but has a new stadium and a desire to win.... exactly what Fulmer has said he wants. Only way to go is up!
7.) Fulmer's style of play is conducive to the Big 10. Whereas the speed of the SEC game passed Fulmer by, that will not happen to him in the Big 10. Ohio St and Iowa are not burning anyone off the field right now offensively and RR might not be around long enough at Michigan for his offense to matter.
8.) Everyone deserves a second chance to reinvent themselves and I believe Fulmer would make the most of it if they give him a few years to turn it around. Fulmer is clearly motivated, whether it's because he still has a chip on his shoulder or otherwise, I think any team in Minnesota's position loses nothing by signing a 4 year, incentive heavy contract with little-to-no buy-out. If Fulmer gets it done, you re-ante on the contract. If he doesn't, you move on with what's likely a more solid framework.

Chavis is the best coach on that staff and Fulmer made him, so yeah that would be a hell of a get for LSU.........)
