This is all hypothetical and please no flaming on this, but let's say whoever we bring in doesn't work out for us and we get rid of him 3-4 years down the road...does UT ever consider possibly bringing Pearl back after things blow over? If ESPN and other sports blogs think Pearl deserves another chance, then why not right back at UT?

Again, this is just a random thought that came across me today:crazy:

Sadly I agree with this thinking. Getting rid of him saves us a little trouble with the NCAA maybe. If his replacement doesnt pan out, I dont see why he wouldnt be considered. Unless your worried about more violations, but really who cares if our basketball program gets in a little trouble as long as we could go through another 6 years of exciting and winning basketball.

gosh I hope so. The problem I see is in 3-4 years the timetable you mentioned will be 2 years past his show cause. I truly believe some school will go get him from a major school who has been down after that suspension expires.

I was behind Pearl more than anyone but hoping he comes back means that we are probably going to suck for the next several years so I don't want that to happen. I hope we have a coach by Monday and we can stop all this damn speculation though.

The year is 2015.

After 4 years with the title of Athletic Director Phillip Fulmer anoints himself head football coach of TN Football after Dooley wins the Sugar Bowl and leaves a treasure chest of young players and recruits for Fulmer since he is departing for a head coaching position in the NFL.

But before Fulmer leaves office, he names Bruce Pearl head coach of Tennessee Basketball.

Fulmer, Bruce and Pat reunited.
