Boyd could be the starter in opening day next year. Another cool thing about Kiffin is that hes a former qb,and I think that will bode well for Crompton,Stephens, and Coleman who are in bad need of qb coaching. So we could have Boyd,or any current vol qb transformed into a good qb with Lane's help next year, yes even Crompton.

If Cut couldn't do it, I don't think it can be done

I think Cutcliffe did do it when he was with Jonathan. It was Clawson that came in and made Jon play like an @ssclown with his complicated scemes. Its just like starting out as a freshman again in some cases. he changes the whole order of operations at qb,even mechanics.

I agree Heath. Clawson made it to complicated for him to understand and it had to be like starting all over again

I doubt the holy one himself could make Crompton a good quarterback.

What gives you that opinion? I never saw much in Crompton that lead me to believe he was destined to become a super star or anything. And watching him this year, any decent athlete at quarterback could improvise and accomplish far more than Crompton. Any offensive scheme, including Clawson's, still involves a quarterback not locking in on a receiver, and being able to throw the ball accurately once he spots an open guy. But who knows, maybe somebody can salvage the guy, but I'm doubtful.

I would love to have a conversation with the real Heath Shuler. He's my favorite UT QB of all time.

You guys are taking this Kiffin thing a little too far. Barkley's dad played for USC. He has been recruiting for USC. It aint gonna happen.

I may be way off here but of the 3 on campus now wouldn't Stephens be the front runner for the starting job? He seems to have the best arm of the 3 and makes far better decisions (for the most part) than Crompton.

I don't think that Stephens had a better arm than Coleman, probably pretty equal all things considered. I think it will come down to has a better grasp of the new system that is implemented. Unless Boyd is such a super/scary/freak of an athlete and just cannot be overlooked, I think it could very well be BJ.

Boyd might be starting right out of the gate...Give a clip board to Stephens, a head set to Coleman and a box of M&M's to Crompton and please whatever You do, Do NOT allow Crompton to take ANY snaps during a game next season...He's already proven he is not the chosen one...Sorry buddy, It's not working out
