Not suggesting Butch should do it or trying to be an armchair coach.

With all our WR talent coming in and returning he could present a huge match up problem to LBs andsafties.

Thoughts?

I've always thought the same thing. But, I almost think he's more of a mismatch to 5'9 190lb corners. His jr and senior I fully expect him and North to be straight beasts.

I'd rather Vic Wharton go down this path... He has the size for it more! Joking

Croom is really coming into his own at WR right now. Why would anyone want to mess it up? Outside, in the slot, or at TE he is a mismatch nightmare for anyone. Lets let him be awesome at WR first!

It's going to depend on how he develops this year. I personally think he'd be a stud TE, and CBJ and Mike B want to run a more slot TE offense, especially on running downs. We simply don't have a TE who can run in the slot right now, and that's why our offense looks so simple on run plays. If Croom can block and get a little bigger, he definitely could play slot TE for this team, and he might become an absolute beast in the process. If he did switch though we have to make sure Pearson and hopefully Malone can step in a play right away.

And thank you for lifting my ban even though it was over 24 hrs late. Thanks

Not trying to bash but he has 9 catches in 7 games.

for a long time I've thought about why we don't move (insert tall WR here) to TE. Then it hit me...they probably can't block. You can't just move a tall, underweight guy to the end of the O-Line and think that he'll ever produce. The D will know it's a pass because he'd get torn up in any blocking scenario.

TE's in a spread offense don't really need to block big D-linemen unless they play on the line, so that leaves them blocking a S/WLB,CB which slot TE have to be able to do. Downs would take all the snaps on the line, and Cropm would take all the snaps from the slot. The same theory will be implied to Wolf and Helm when they are here. Wolf will play on the line, and Helm will play out of the slot.

Dont know the future, just giving an opinion. I dont think he will play RB. Safety seems more likely to me. I could be wrong, we will see soon enough.

RB is much much more likely that S.

If he's too big to be a RB, he sure as hell is too big for safety

Iirc...Dooley had decided to move him to TE last year after he got hurt. So no he wouldn't be good at TE cause dooley is a moron that has no clue about what would be best for player development. So all yall that agreed with the OP need to go in TO for it.

CBJ knows what's best for the team. Good thing is he took over a team full of players that will do what it takes to win as a team. So imo if CBJ says he wants him to be a TE Croom will do it without hesitation. And MzTerry will be right there quizing him on his new assignments late night on the phone.

I think Hurd is going to play all over the field on offense. The problem with that is we need Lane to stay healthy and we need to find at least one other RB for next year. Paulk was the guy the staff liked, but bad things happen so we must find someone who can be a decent back up.
