It'll become the Dallas Football Classic in 2011, move to the new Dallas stadium and feature Big Ten against Conference USA and the Big 12 on a rotating basis.

Take out a pretty good SEC team for a conference USA team, are you kidding me? What is Jerry Jones going to do the first time ECU plays in it and brings 2,000 fans?

probably leave his press box and go to the sidelines and ask the coach why they didnt bring more fans.

Why not just add a new bowl game, it seems like the newest trend.

The Cotton Bowl is a pretty old game, I have a hard time believing this one.

Sorry to be "that guy", because I know what your point is, but I just wanted to point out that East Carolina is actually a C-USA team that travels well. They were in the Aloha Bowl a few years ago, and brought more people than Boise State.
I'm guessing the SEC will pick up another bowl affiliation. I wonder which that will be.

The team shake-up is one thing, but moving it out of the actual Cotton Bowl absolutely sucks. The place is a college football icon.

I remember going to the Cotton Bowl a few years ago while living in San Antonio, drove up to Dallas for the game. The absolute worst performance by a TN football team in recent memory. I actually felt bad for Kansas State, they get a good bowl game and this is the best competition they could get. That's where I saw what looked like the players would have rather been anywhere but at that game. They could not run, they could not catch the ball, they could not tackle and I think the kicker shanked every ball that touched his foot. The most pathethic performance of all time...to include the Ohio game this year or the Wyoming game last year. And that was the coldest stadium on the planet. I am so glad the leadership has changed and there seems to be a spark back. GO VOLS

I was gonna say, The Cotton bowl has been around a long long time and I didn't really think they would just up and get rid of it...It should be a BCS bowl IMO

I live in Dallas. Cotton Bowl will now be played at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington (Jerryworld). Dallas is adding a SECOND bowl game at the Cotton Bowl site in Fair Park. So now Dallas has two bowl games.

If the Vols come to Big D, they will play a Big 12 opponent in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

Come on down and let's show Texas the real UT.

So the Cotton Bowl will become a BCS bowl, and the new bowl game in Dallas will drop the SEC to add the C-Usa? However, the Gator Bowl will now be an SEC bowl game. Did I get that right?

I think that is their intention. I am sure they would have stiff competition from CapitalOne Bowl and a few others....

The move to Jerryworld moves to bigger, nicer, climate controlled stadium.

I would love to see a vols sooners matchup in January in Dallas......

That's why I'm more excited if we can get to the Cotton Bowl than Capital One, playing in the new Cowboy stadium, even though I hate the boys, would be a good trip. But, let's beat Memphis first and play 'em one at a time. What a major accomplishment if this team can win out and wind up in the Cotton Bowl.

The Cotton Bowl isnt a BCS bowl but trust me that their intentions of becoming one are evident in their move to this new stadium and the fact there isnt any BCS bowl games in Texas, just a matter of time..

I concur about the Cotton Bowl becoming a BCS Bowl. I'm not all that old but I do remember when the Cotton Bowl was one of the big bowls. I thought it would make more sense to make the Cotton a BCS Bowl instead of the stupid thing they did where it's now the BCS Championship. I figured they would move it to the new Cowboy Stadium and in doing so would pitch to become the 5th BCS bowl.

SEC is also dropping the Independence Bowl.
And, if they make the Cotton Bowl a BCS bowl, I wonder if they would still have the NC game as a separate game, or if it would rotate among what would then be 5 sites.

When is the BCS contract up? I can't help but wish for a play-off! And yes I know it is wishful thinking, but a man can dream right?

5 or 6 teams finishing the regular season undefeated would cream the "season is a playoff" argument.

I agree. IMO I don't see a true national champion this year. Oregon is playing as well as anybody and they prob won't even get a shot! There are way to many scenarios to even mention as to what could happen in the top 10 BCS standings! TOO MANY freakin bowl games also!
