Cotton Bowl might actually end up being the bowl with the worst weather this playoff season. Its still snowing in Dallas right now. Now if Texas can spank OSU in the snow in basically a home game the SEC can come out looking less bad this playoff season. But if Texas can win out we can come out on top that would leave the SEC with a 8-4 bowl record (we are currently 6-4) Assuming Texas wins out the Big Ten (currently 5-3) would at best end up 6-5 at worst 5-5 if Notre dame and Texas both win this week.

I actually think snow/rain/bad weather hurts OSU more than it does any other team because of their playstyle.

Still, a chance Smith slips on a patch of ice coming off the bus. Texas ice has an SEC bias.

yeah looks like it got moved to AT&T in 2010.. been so long we'd played there didn't know.

After a full season, I still struggle with associating Texas with our conference.
Yup. Putting your hopes on Texas to save the SEC reputation just doesn't work for me. Heck, I still don't consider A&M and Missouri (what was up with that agreement to join?) SEC schools. I barely now consider Arkansas and South Carolina.

The weather will only affect people traveling to and from the game. The game is being played at Jerry World in Arlington

Who gives a rat’s ass about the conference saving face? I hope OSU caves Texas’s skull in. No way I want to give the shorthorns a reason to say they’re better than us.
Because the conference doing well helps UT.. Players want to play in the SEC because it means something. A good example would be Prgnon the OG we are targeting in the portal that kid wants to play in the SEC.

I think people don't understand how much people not from the south don't really know much about how it is out here. I have had friends from the west coast come out here from Cali etc and they thought they came from places where football was big. Then they came anywhere in the south and it was like WTF. The thing is to get them the intro. You look at a lot of overseas UT fans and UT fans from other parts of the country that have never been here. They were introduced to UT via the SEC... they decide to check out the sport hear that the SEC is thebest league and they follow and they find UT. Without that a lot of them become Oregon or Michigan fans or OSUpuke. It matters. If the SEC was a weak conference we'd be Boise State. We'd win a lot but because we played scrubs all the teams in the SEC are respected because the conference as a whole is tough. It's why a lot of Europeans that get into football become SEC fans because over there their leagues work on a relegation system. Bad teams in the top leagues get demoted and the best in the lower leagues get promoted. Happens in Soccer, F1 and to a certain point basketball.

So yes I will be rooting for Texas to spank OSU tonight. Because as much as I hate the fake UT and UGA and Bama and everyone else.. they are one of us. They are our rivals. The BigTen ACC etc are our enemies. Also UT and fakeUT is such a natural rivalry to develop it will be interesting to see it develop. Our first meeting with them will possibly be with a Manning behind center.

I dont care for rooting for the conference. Let everyone loose this year. I would prefer ND to win it all.

You were unaware the Cotton Bowl moved to Jerry World 15 years ago?
