Cotman decommits

He retweeted something about Butch needing to leave.

Well if he was told they were looking for experienced players - he may not be happy.

This is the part I do not like about recruiting but understand it completely. Coaches trying to find the right players and players trying to find the right place for them.

To help out with context, Cotman retweeted a link to a Scout article talking his de-commitment. He said that "we want experienced players and not have to start over with freshman again."

That's still confusing to me, why cut a promising 4* when we have a ton of questionable 3*?

I'd take the freshman just my thoughts.

Ok. Thank you for your answer. I wasn't trying to be snarky. I know it's hard to not take it that way when in the FF. Lol.

I'm just speculating that they (coaches) hope they can get some immediate help from a juco or two. I know we haven't had great luck with them lately, but if 17 is SEC east or bust for CBJ as has been speculated, I can certainly see going this route. JMO

I'm of the belief you take the younger player with equal talent or potential over a juco player. Not saying that's always correct. But Butch may now know how sh**** Tennessee fans can be and that basically he's got to win the East in 2017 for his jobs sake.

Under normal circumstances, I'm right there with you. Given the debacle of this season and the sharks that are circling, I too agree CBJ believes he better get it done next year. Even if getting it done isn't all for UT, but to repair his reputation, that has taken a beating this year. If he improves our wins and his reputation next year, I think he'll take off for greener pastures.

Yep, right when those juco leave for the pros and the cupboard is bare.

Either way we need to cut Martinez loose. Our DBs are terrible. I think if we go Juco that probably means we retain Martinez

Martinez definitely needs to go. CB's not looking back for the ball and just waving their arms has gotten real old. 😳
